Did regular decision come out???

Yes

My son got nothing…. He switched his major after accepting his deferral. Could that affect it?

Accepted after deferral - wow - need to look for info on accepted students day - any insight welcome!

Accepted after deferral into first choice major. What a waste of time.

Is your child excited about the acceptance? I would think this would be good news.

Admitted with $24k per year scholarship…very excited kid….

My son was rejected after deferral. My wife and I are both alumni. He was not rejected by any other schools and was accepted by much more selective schools. TCU was his top choice. I guess our family’s horned frog legacy is over.

Meaning she was accepted to her first choice major and she should have been accepted back in December. The deferral upended the entire process, caused huge amounts of stress when it didn’t need to, and to top it all off we would have been full pay. Just caused all sorts of disruption for us personally.

So sorry to hear this. Makes no sense.

This is my third son going to college…when I see stuff like this it never makes sense. Where is the loyalty.

My son was admitted after deferral as a Founders Scholar. TCU was originally his first choice. He also has a 3 year scholarship from ROTC to cover his tuition. I think the delay from TCU has knocked TCU from that top spot. He has had several months to visit other schools look into meal plans and dorms and roommates. He was accepted before Christmas to Baylor, Alabama, Ole Miss, Montana State, West Virginia and Embry Riddle. Those schools have pursued him and a few have offered enough merit to pick up that 4th year that ROTC doesn’t cover. He went to admitted students day at Ole Miss and they really impressed him. He will take some time still to decide but TCU went from firmly his first choice to at best 2nd place right now. I’m not sure why TCU defers so many students. But I am sure it costs them some great Freshman.

Gosh, I’m so sorry to read this. I am a TCU alum as well. My D24 was accepted in EA and was given a bit of merit but they deferred her for Honors College, and outside of that, the school hasn’t really given her the time of day. Other schools (some more selective) have pursued my D and shown significant more interest in her via honors/scholars opportunities, larger merit aid packages, etc. and they seem to want her. Because of all of this, my D has lost interest in TCU and it’s off the list for us. This makes me a bit sad, but I’d rather she go where she’s wanted and forge her own path. And maybe this will open up a space for another student who really wants to be there. Hang in there, your son will find a place that is a great fit for him.

I do not really understand the delay, either… But at the end of the day, I don’t think they really care at all as Long as there are thousands of people waiting in the wings to take the spot of someone who may turn them down… The admissions office seems more interested in posting TikTok videos…. Don’t think the admissions office should really be the story. It should be about the kids.

Well said. I totally agree.

Anyone with previous TCU experience know how housing works for those who were just admitted? Is there a rush to put a deposit down or is it random dorm assignment?

It does seem crazy that your son was rejected if his grades we good enough to get him into tougher schools. Plus you both being alumni. Maybe consider appealing the decision, if TCU is his dream school.

Hearing a lot of this. Wife was a highly accomplish student and TCU grad and older son is excelling in Neely. We moved on when he got deferred and received admit to Trinity (with significant scholarship) and TAMU Mays Business School which is considered superior to Neely.

Makes no sense.
