Teach For America 2012 Corps

so i just checked the TFA website, and it states that for people who applied late for transitional funding may see a change in our status up to four days after our admission notification date… So I guess there is still a little hope for those of us who applied late & didn’t see a change in our status yet? haha… (-> nervous laughter).

Oh gosh. Nervewracking indeed!

My transitional funding status has not changed. It still says under review and I applied before the deadline. I can only hope it takes a while to get to everyone.

Tuesday, guys. Isn’t that crazy?

Good luck to everyone and regardless of what happens, I’m sure this experience has inspired us to make a difference in education.

Welcome aggie. If you don’t mind me asking what school did you go to? My university is the aggies is why I ask.

Anyways this morning I woke up and TFA was the only thing on my mind only two looooooooooong days left. So close.

To be honest its highly depressing that my transitional status still says “under review” because looking at past threads most people who did not see a status change by now didn’t receive an offer :/

I’m still trying to stay positive though, 2 more days and it will all be over! Good luck everyone and congrats Siva!! You earned it girl :)

my university is the aggies, too… Hmm, I wonder if there are a lot of Davis people on this forum ;)

I went to Utah State University in Logan Utah. It’s a big Agricultural school, so we are the Aggies. I graduated in 2009, and then did a Masters Degree in England at the University of Leicester.

Yah I know USU I had a cousin go there and we played you all in basketball a few years ago. And I don’t go to Davis. I’m a fighting texas aggie. Texas a&m university.

I love Texas, I put Dallas as my #1 highly preferred. Getting anxious, I just want to know already.

Hi everyone!!

I just want to wish everyone luck as the big day approaches! It’s been great to have you all as support and regardless of what happens I’m excited for all of us! :)

GOOD LUCK!!!

dun dun dun… it’s tomorrow!! D-1 @_@ haha

p.s. How am I suppose to sleep tonight?
p.p.s. I bought 2 chocolate bars to comfort myself with in case I don’t get in (which is most likely since my transitional funding status has yet to change). Thought about getting cookies, but Hershey’s bars were on sale! xD

o yea, almost forgot: good luck everyone!! :D

eeek! i am so jittery. i have had a little too much caffeine today. ooops! i know i don’t know any of you and haven’t even really posted, but from what i have read i can tell everyone deserves teach for america. if some of us don’t get it, then that’s okay! we will move on and still do great things because we have that desire within us already. anyways, i hope everyone can sleep tonight. i’m sure we will have a LOT more posts before the evening comes. when is everyone going to start compulsively checking their emails? for me, it’ll be around 4:00 pm central time, hah! if i can hold off for that long. do we have any southerners in this forum?

Just passing along another teaching opportunity I came across :)

Home[/url”>Memphis Teacher Residency — Training Teachers For Equal Education (MTR)]Home

I’m going to be a wreck tomorrow! I’m so nervous my stomach hurts lol. I’m in California by the way. Hoping for Los Angeles if I am lucky enough to get accepted :)

Good luck guys!!

Shilamone,

Thanks for posting the MTR link. Just as with TFA, this also seems like a wonderful program.

The wait is almost over…good luck everyone!

Today is the big day. Good luck to every one!

Crossing my fingers for all of you! However, if you don’t get in, I hope you continue to pursue work that helps to erase social inequity in our country.

whoa… I haven’t been on here since my college search days! so crazy to think four years have gone by already.

I, too, am anxiously awaiting to hear back. I am in Virginia and hoping to be placed in the Bay Area, Seattle or Denver for secondary math or English. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hey Everyone,

In just a few more hours we will all know if we’ve been accepted as
corps members.

I wish you all the best of luck!

PLEASE tell us all of the news (good or bad) and hopefully we
can continue to be a support network for each other.

I don’t know if you all would like to have a specific way in which
we format our notification. The people from the first and second
deadlines used something like this:

Accepted/Rejected
Location
Subject
Grade
Applied for transitional funding: yes/no
Final interview date

I think I’ll use that format because it’s rather concise. But feel
free to tell us the news in any way shape or form.

I am on my toes for everyone. Good luck and I <3 you all :)

Kind Regards,

Siva562

P.S. There were sooooooooo many people from UC Davis
at my final interview. If you were there in San Francisco
on Dec. 2nd shot outs to you!!!

Yah aggie Texas is a great place but ive been here for 18 years gotta get out so I applied all outside Texas.

I’m do nervous all I can think about today as I suffer through syllabus day.

Best of luck to everyone!!!
