When do people start seeing those weird number values under their transitional funding form?

Going to bed tonight so, so nervous.

Hey everyone, I’m waiting with much anticipation for tonight!

My girlfriend has kind of been keeping me calm. Told me that “life is not over if I do not get into TFA.” Which is very true and I know its a tough pill to shallow for all of us. If anyone is in Jersey and wants to mope and grieve after learning of their rejection, let me know and lets go do something! lol, misery loves company…

Best of luck to everyone! I’ll be praying for us all

TFAAMAN: Looking back on previous rounds, people started seeing weird numbers pretty close to notification, like a couple hours max it seems.

Hey everyone! Good luck to all 5DL applicants today!
I was a 4DL and my Applicant Center changed nearly 30 minutes before I received my email. Just a heads up for the “constant refreshers” out there. ( I was one of them )

Good luck today everyone! I remember how agonizing the wait was!!! Try to do something to get your mind off things today.

welcome to the homestretch everyone!

“may the odds be ever in your favor”

… it just seemed fitting ;)

Lol, wonderstruck08! To you as well!

Try to keep busy today, everyone!!
And no matter what we learn today, we are all going to make a difference in our own ways. I’ve had so much on this board & it’s made the past weeks so much easier!!

Got an email from my recruiter and almost died.

Good Luck as well everyone! God bless

Oh boy…big day! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! I’m definitely expecting rejection at this point but my ever present optimism keeps me dreaming that i’ll be given the ths particular opportunity to pursue my dream! Literally dreaming (I know others have talked about dreams, i guess it means we really want it!). This may be a bad call, but after I get out of class at 3:15 I think I’m going to go downtown for my friend’s birthday. I’ll definitely limit myself to two or three drinks so as not to check my smart phone and erupt into intense blubbering…checked my email at 9:15 today and was so nervous I was shaking while knowing full well i wouldn’t find out till later…TFA has put us on a hell of a ride…GOOD LUCK!

Everybody but TFA needs to stop emailing me. My heart stops every time my school Gmail account pops up with a little (1) on the tab, even though I know it’s way too early in the day for any word. No, I don’t want to go to your talk, or hear about new courses in my department next year, gah!

And yes, I got an email from my recruiter this morning as well. She mentioned that recruiters don’t know the admissions results any earlier than we do. Her suggestion was that we should consider 1) whether we have any lingering concerns about TFA if we do get in, and 2) what we’ll do if we don’t get the region, grade level, or subject that we want to teach.

Good to think about, but I’ll save that for AFTER decisions go out haha.

@waltzin: my recruiter’s message said basically the same thing. weird!

Hey folks! I’ve been stalking this thread for a few days now, so I figured I’d suck it up and join the site. Nothing like a little commiseration as we wait!

Did anyone else rank Austin as one of their preferred regions? I know it’s a “potential expansion region”… does that mean they’ll be placing people there this year? If so, that’d be pretty sweet.

“Potential expansion regions are sites that we are considering for future expansion. As we currently do not have partnerships in these sites, we will not be placing corps members in any region until the expansion site is formally opened. Given this distinction, we collect your preferences for these potential expansion regions for informational purposes only. You should indicate your preference for them as you would any other site, understanding you could only be assigned to them in the event we officially expand to these regions.”

Thanks, wonderstruck08!

Luckily I’m pretty pumped about all of the other areas I ranked, as well. I started researching the cities months ago.

Slytherclaw (great name btw) - I did! Not in my top 6 from the original application, but it’s a highly preferred from the final interview preferencing. Austin is actually where I think I’ll be next year if I’m rejected from TFA, given the cost of living and huge number of jobs there.

A couple other things I’ve noticed while stalking this site – a lot of people only saw their status change on the website after they logged out & back in; some people heard between 5 and 6, but most not until after 6:30; most people got e-mails long after their notification status changed on the Applicant Center.

That being said I’m already refreshing the Applicant Center pretty much constantly. heh… :)

ssadiesades: Oh man… me too. I’m getting NOTHING accomplished at work today. At least I had the foresight to know that this would be the case, so I got all of the tough work out of the way on Monday and Tuesday.

I have class all day on Thursdays. Needless to say not much attention has been paid loll.
