Tell me somethin' good . . .

After two full weeks of him self-quarantining in our home, and no one showing any symptoms or becoming ill, I was able to hug my son today. I will never again underestimate the magical power of a hug.

A dam broke, and there was catastrophic flooding in Michigan this week. A friend has a cottage in the area, and it was hit hard (still standing, but mud-filled and soaked). They had to get it cleared out to try to dry it out before mold set in. Insurance wouldn’t pay, they don’t qualify for FEMA relief, the flood restoration company stood them up … they were feeling overwhelmed, but they worked as a family to do what they could when it happened. Then on day 2, hundreds of volunteers descended on the area, including about 800 members of the Morman church. Apparently the volunteers were incredible, and the family is forever grateful. Such an uplifting story of coming together during this time when there is so much division.

The S works for a major sports franchise and was told his job is secure through the end of the season!! YES!!

Youngest son has finally been here, self-quarantined, for two weeks so I can finally hug him! Haha!! Watch out, kiddo!!

Youngest kid just got her diploma from Susquehanna University in the mail. Summa cum laude! We’re going to hold a little ceremony for her.

D went shopping at Costco the other day and made us a lovely and yummy early anniversary dinner (she will be too pooped from being with friends to celebrate on the actual day, 5/31). It was delicious and I thought it very thoughtful of her.

It’s rare that my kids are physically nearby in May, since they normally live 2500-5000 miles from us.

Just bought a lovely prime rib roast that I will be making tomorrow for the actual anniversary dinner—it was even on sale!

S got promoted today!

Supreme Court Decision!

It’s also beautiful weather here , too.

Supreme Court Decision!!!

FDA rescinding emergency authorization for hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19. Science prevails!!!

I got to hold my 5 week old newest granddaughter yesterday. It was sweet as could be. Masked.

My D paid off her car loan, two years early.

Yes, the Supreme Court decision. Definitely good news for both me and my son. In fact, the best news I’ve had in a long time, unless I want to count both of us remaining healthy after all this time in the once (and hopefully not future) epicenter of the pandemic.

^^ Good to see you @DonnaL and yes, it was a wonderful day yesterday!

Hello, @DonnaL!!

Hi @DonnaL! Good to see you; glad you are well. I thought of you when I saw the news.

Nice to see you @DonnaL! Glad to hear you and your son are doing well.

Happy birthday to me!!! Yay! Got the free Starbucks! My D is cooking dinner for us! My H got the cake on sale!! My body hurts! Aging sucks! But yay!

My son’s boss went to bat for him to get promoted. Still doesn’t know how much or when (soon), but I will be happening.

The Supreme Court decision is very good news.

Good to see you back, @DonnaL. I think of you frequently as a kid I know is transitioning.

Looking good SCOTUS. You keep steering that ship away from the rocks, Justice Roberts!

I was experimenting in making smaller masks and made some that are ideal for my little niece and nephews in cute patterns. They all begged me to make more with kittens on them, so I will happily oblige and make them different so they can be distinguished from each other.
