My daughter switched jobs in May. The old job had gotten pretty toxic, made worse by work from home. She just got a stellar 90 day review from her boss and is excited because people in other areas are raving about her group’s work. So nice when your work is appreciated, so different from how her work was viewed in her last job.
Son found out he got a 35% raise! He has been up and down regarding how much he enjoys his work, but he seems like he’s in a good place. Now we just have to hope his company doesn’t lose the contract he’s on soon.

@VeryHappy, he was promoted (but doing the same job) and the raise came with the promotion. I gather they have a range, and I think he got the highest percentage he could get.
He’s pretty much off my payroll - except I do cover him on my insurance until 26.

I can’t believe it … my 28 year old S called me “just to say hi & see what you’ve been up to” for the very first time. Breakthrough!! And D, who is almost half way through her pregnancy, sent pictures from today’s ultrasound. Oh, and after 34 years in this house, we finally had an electrician in today to install overhead lighting in the living room & family room. It’s been a great day!

My son finally graduated after 7 years. Yay. He and a buddy were out paddle boarding last weekend when they saved a guy who was drowning. The guy was having an asthma attack and trying to hold onto a jet ski in the water. No one could hear him calling for help.

I am so relieved. My best friend’s son is a physical therapist and he lost his job in an orthopedic group clinic. So, he is venturing out on his own, to start his own business and he already has clients!!! I am so happy. It’s a slow start but it’s a start!

My daughter made the training team for a World Cup team. They are supposed to play next July in the USA, Covid willing. Very proud (she did this all on her own) and I’m happy for her. No way to know if she’ll make the final roster but I think she will.

H and I finally tossed years of old financial docs and tax returns that were collecting dust and taking up space. We kept the last 3 years worth.
OMG, I have to take time to do a special call out for @toledo son who saved a man from drowning!!! Goosebumps! I am quite sure there is a man on this earth with asthma for who that may be his BEST “tell me something good…” news ever!

The weird thing is my daughter and her boyfriend (now husband) pulled a lady out of a burning house a couple years ago. I think I posted it on this thread, too.
Something kind of sad about the asthmatic guy and his friends, who were partying inside a home on the shore. Son said he thinks they were all on meth or heroin. We’ll just hope the guy will see the benefit of getting a “second chance” and change his ways.
