Tell me somethin' good . . .

Haven’t had time to scroll through the thousands of entries. It’s on my list.

Jump right in close to the end. If you ask something that’s already been discussed, no one will jump on you. It’s a very chill thread!

Sweet idea! Sure hope they were well behaved dogs with 200 all together.

I received a $220 gift card as part of class action lawsuit against EpiPen. I’m pleasantly surprised at the amount.

I saw that about petting dogs for the 100th birthday too. So sweet!

@Toledo $220 is nothing to sneeze at!!

Baby girl was born at the end of May. She is the most perfect, beautiful baby ever born. The rest of you don’t have to share this opinion, but I know!
The months between my last post and this one were hijacked with a cancer diagnosis and treatment but I was well enough to hold that little bundle of joy just a few days later!

So good to hear from you @dragonmom! Baby girls are amazing. Glad the treatment was well tolerated. Fingers crossed the wicked disease is defeated.

This week, my sister celebrated “Day 100” post stem cell transplant! In transplant world, this is a big milestone. She looks great and is getting stronger every day. Thank you to the wonderful anonymous stem cell donor!!!

I think it’s time to bump this back up.

This week -

  1. I am recovering nicely from last Friday’s surgery.
  2. A friends lovely D is now a PhD! Knowing that it was not an easy road for her due to health issues makes it even more impressive.
  3. I am in contact with a former cc poster who lives about a mile from where I live now and we are planning to have a coffee and walk meet up.

Good idea!

I also have a friend whose daughter has serious health issues. She got married last Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding and I’m so happy for her!

I am also happy I will get to talk via Zoom to a group of DAs in Maine, to inform them of a program that can (potentially) keep severely mentally ill people out of jail. I will be presenting with a former state senator.

My mother had her final 5 year appointment after her breast cancer diagnosis, as did a friend after his bladder cancer diagnosis. Another friend is now in remission after his myeloma diagnosis, but must quarantine for 2 more months.

Over the past several years we bought a few parcels of development land adjacent to a State game preserve. Rather than develop the property we decided to sell it to a nonprofit land trust so it can be preserved.

So, good thing number 1, the land is being preserved.

Good thing number 2, we doubled our money,

Good thing number 3, we’re getting a very significant tax write off.

Good thing number 4, our kids are making good incomes and they’re partners in the ownership entity, and the tax deduction will be very helpful for them.

Everyone wins!

I liked this story today about otters and crabs. Hungry Otters Take on Invasive Crabs in California

After 15 years on the waiting list, our daughter got season Broncos tickets. She’s at the game with my husband right now. (I’m not a football fan, but I persevered with the four tv remotes so I can watch the game from home.)

My D20, who dated very little in hs and college, is finally in a serious relationship with a very nice young man. It’s so nice to see her happy in this way.
