He received Gateway today, just keeping you posted.
Gateway is such an awesome opportunity!
Nobody really know how they get chosen. From past feedback it seems to be full admission based on taking 4 classes in summer session 2. Two are for grades and count for credit and you need a 2.0 to continue in the Fall. It is kind of a provisional acceptance but I’ve heard that 99% of students get that. It is meant for students who were perhaps borderline or show potential but may need a head start in college to be successful.
Great information posted in this thread! Appreciate the professionalism and thoughtfulness as well. Our daughter was recently admitted to TAMU via Team Blinn. She has also been admitted to Trinity, TCU, SMU and Baylor. All things being equal (including cost), should she choose Team Blinn? Team Blinn sounds like a great opportunity but it is a much different pathway than those being offered by the schools listed above. She is thinking of majoring in Economics. Thanks!
My daughter selected Team only last year and got it. She was not test optional… she submitted her scores.
Have they offered any PSA or Waitlist yet?
This is such a personal decision by your daughter. She’d still be an Aggie and take classes at both campus’s. She’ll get the full blown experience. But yes it’s not a pathway that those other schools offer. Very unique and sets the student up for success.
Best of luck in your decision making process. It’s always great to have options.
It is personal. That’s the correct response. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks to this thread, I think we understand the advantages of TEAM fairly well. Are there any disadvantages other than the commute to and from the two campuses and managing two separate college accounts?
Does anyone know when they send out rejections? From everything I’ve learned here, my son doesn’t have a chance in hell at this point. He applied OOS test optional for engineering, and said he was not interested in any of the alternative pathways, so I’d like to help him move on.
PSA is considered a ‘soft rejection’.
Unless very high stats or scores, A&M holistic decisions come out January-March. This is posted on their website.
Oh, don’t they ask you if you want PSA as an alternative pathway when you apply? We checked that we only wanted full admit. I did see what was on the website, thanks for pointing that out, I had heard that full admit for engineering was no longer a possibility so was going based on that. I guess we’ll wait it out.
Hi, has anyone received any new Acceptances pending kind this week? Thanks! My daughter was waitlisted for TEAM.
how do you find out what ranking A&M gave your kid?
Gateway went out this week
It is listed in AIS when you log in
Thank you! They got it right
The commute is not bad at all. Campus shuttles go between the two. No issues. The drive is also easy if they choose to drive themselves. Do recommend having classes split per campus per MWF and T/Th
Ok, thank you.
And what does that ranking mean?
