Same for my son. My son’s major choices were (1) Forensic Investigative Science & (2) Genetics. I wish if they would give us some kind of closure soon.

I saw on the Aggie Parents FB Page that some kiddos didn’t hear until spring break and that they received full admit offers. Here’s hoping!

I do know a couple of families whose student received a full admission offer last year around spring break, but it was an opportunity major, not either of the majors they applied for.

Just in the last 30 minutes the change major option is gone from manage my application. It says log in to AIS to see decision. No 7 tabs. AIS unchanged. Does this indicate any certain outcome?

This indicates PSA.

Agreed. My son applied to Mays Business and Applied Mathematics in College of Arts and sciences. He applied late and Mays was full already by then in last week of Nov. No changes in portal all along other than in review.. If already rejected, then should let kids know soon as many are already visiting other admitted school events in Feb/Mar. We are not interested in any of the alternate pathways. With rolling decisions, it is better to move on with a rejection at this stage. it helps kids to make decision to commit to one of the other accepted colleges sooner than later. Drip -drip- drip decisions like TAMU does are the worst!

I hear all your frustrations, and the process is maddening.
However, given the extreme number of applicants, this is always the Holistic timeline, posted on Admissions page.

If your son only wants Business, I believe he’s got some solid options? Move on from TAMU and forge ahead with the other programs!

Son received an email to submit some financial aid info after we submitted FAFSA so he logged in Howdy and found 7 tabs this morning! AIS now shows “General Engineering EN BAC Galveston”, but he hasn’t got any admission notification. Did we miss anything or will another email be sent regarding more detailed admission info? We almost lost hope and are so thankful for the signs of good news. Will dig in for more info regarding Galveston and thank you all for sharing these great Aggie info here.

My DS was admitted in October itself in engineering but haven’t received any information about scholarship or honors (he filled that honor’s application). Did anyone received any kind of scholarship and when?

Did he submit FAFSA? Fill out general scholarship application? Is he NMSF? If he’s not NMSF, or from an identified Century Scholar School, don’t expect a scholarship (certainly not a substantial one).
Make sure he’s checking FinAid tab in portal, in case something does post.

Deadline hasn’t closed yet for Eng HNR application, so most likely very few acceptances have gone out.

we are not eligible for FAFSA and we are OOS and not a NMSF. his weighted GPA is 4.5 and ACT 35 composite and did all the scholarship essays in application. Is there any possibility for him to get any scholarship?

The first indicator is Howdy’s 7 tabs. It shows the office is setting Howdy up for the next 4 years of student access.
Formal notification will be via AIS, usually a day or two later.
Postal mail with banner and the same letter in AIS will be in two to three weeks.
All students plan to attend US public colleges are encouraged to fill out FAFSA. Texas make it a requirement for most Texas public high schools.

If you meant merit base, very hard if not NMSF/NMF no matter Texas or OOS students. Department may have grants from $500 to $2K but usually after having good GPA at TAMU.
For need base, one must file FAFSA for US citizens or ISFAA for international students.

Submit FAFSA anyway! We did not qualify, but MANY A&M scholarships require FAFSA to be on file-and you won’t be considered if FAFSA isn’t on file. Submit every year.
My Aggie received several A&M scholarships, and even tho Merit based, FAFSA was required.
OOS and not NMSF will be TOUGH to get any $, at least as an incoming freshman.

Texas A&M University - Fall 2025
When Howdy posts a note to check AIS for a decision and it isn’t there and no 7 tabs, is that 100% PSA?

Thank you so much for your reply. So the showing of Howdy 7 tabs does indicate that a final admission decision is done, right? It’s just that the admission office needs some more time to send out the official admission message or email later? I checked previous discussion mentioned the offer of options so I’m confused about TAMU at Galveston. It’s my first kid applying for college so I’m really new to all these.

If Change Major button is gone, that’s PSA.

Thanks; appreciate the confirmation. It really is a shame they don’t have decisions posted when there is a message to check for it.
