Texas A&M Class of 2029 Official Thread

The change major button is gone for me and says Login to AIS to check decision. AIS hasn’t said anything yet. But I’m a neuroscience major? Is there PSA for neuroscience? (i am getting so worried)

Is there some way to officially accept Blinn Team? Her AIS hasn’t updated yet even though my daughter has had the 7 tabs for about 24 hours but we’re just trying to be patient here.

Once her AIS updates with the acceptance banner she will have the option to register for “New Student Conference(NSC)” by registering and paying the fee you are accepting admission to TEAM.

Totally agree to move on if Mays was the only college of interest. The greatest thing about Mays is really only the price and (if you live in Texas) the location. I have seen way, way too many extremely bright kids get crowded out of Mays, mainly due to them finishing out the top 10% because they attend very rigorous and competitive schools. They have been accepted at other undergrad programs that have better job placement, student profiles, and national rankings. That is is not because Mays is considered a nationally top tier business school but because it is drowning in applicants and has a rather crude acceptance process. Is what it is for gigantic state schools.

Here’s the link for PSA majors offered-

Engineering at Galveston is pretty much spill over enrollment from main campus. It is full admission and student goes through the same ETAM process as those on main campus.
Yes AIS, Howdy, Financial Aid, Housing are different sub-systems so it takes time to update everything but should be done no more than one week. AIS should be updated within a day or two.

If in the howdy portal it says “view decision thru ais” and the 2 buttons for majors are gone on the howdy part but when you go to ais it still says app is complete and in review and at the bottom still have the 2 major buttons. Still don’t have 7 tabs does this mean PSA just haven’t received official letter?

I think it’s because the average parent or student isn’t checking the Howdy portal. Most of us only know about that because of following forums like this one.
The communication with the school says to check the AIS.

Agreed. My kids interest is only Mays. He is now warming up to his Rutgers New Brunswick Business school acceptance and then Penn State (DUS with plan to enter into Smeal). Few more acceptances he has ruled out and awaiting on a few. His howdy portal change major option went away today but no 7 tabs and AIS still says in review. most likely PSA or rejection. Thanks everyone and Good luck to all.

Thank you so much for the information!

If you go off Niche which is a pretty good barometer:

Austin Westlake
Southlake Carroll
Austin Westwood
Katy Seven Lakes
Austin Vandegrift
Katy Tompkins
Coppell
Fort Bend Clemens

Those are all 6A High Schools in the Top 200 Nationally.

Has anyone gotten the letter referenced on Howdy in AIS? If so, can you post it? The only change I see is change major button is gone in AIS.

My son received the 3 options email a couple of weeks ago, he hastily selected both Waitlist and Team. There have since been no changes to his portal. He still shows both majors. I am refreshing his Howdy 30 times a day but I have NO IDEA what signs and miracles from the Aggie gods I am looking for. Other than just sit and wait, which is a lesson in life, anyone have any insight?

I believe it has been said in this forum if you choose both, it’s typically a later response. They fill the Blinn Team only preferences first?? They have until March for the final response

Agree - I am not aware of any reports of someone who got the “3 options” and chose “Both” getting a decision yet.

I think that was the risk with that option and leaving full admit via waitlist on the table. Interesting that pretty consistent feedback from those who have spoken to someone in admissions has been that “both” was the best choice for most applicants.

If the cost is TEAM spots filling up in the meantime, not sure I agree with the advice.

In our case it was a calculated risk having been down this path 2 years ago when my daughter choose “both” and got her TEAM offer during spring break.

My son has much stronger options in his pocket with other schools, arguably stronger than a direct admit to his first choice would have been, so he wanted to roll the dice on a full admit.

same situation here. No letter, but change major button now gone in AIS as well. Not feeling hopeful at this point.

My son wants to change his major to Biology, but cannot do online now. Biology advisor asks him to stop by her office on NSC day to talk about the change.

How hard could it be to post the letter so you know if it is PSA or rejection?
