A&M (and I assume most large schools) communicate via the portal, not by email.
That is true but haven’t seen any other school (with 2 kids so far) not send an email to check the portal for an update. UT included.
UT also announced a date (or two) to check your portal. This endless waiting with no updates is ridiculous.
Did anyone else apply separately to the Galveston campus?
PSAs went out
My son did.
I wonder if they’re admitting people who applied to College Station to Galveston first and then getting to the Galveston-specific applications afterwards…
Could you please elaborate on the PSA? Does this imply attendance at an affiliated University guarantees admission after one year? What if she just wants to stay in College Station and attend Blinn?
My son was top 10% auto admit but is going into engineering. Because it was holistic at CS he applied to Galveston as well as a just in case. He also applied there just in case he wanted to attend at Galveston because of the smaller classes. He was accepted to both early on in the process in the fall. We just declined his admission to Galveston yesterday. Hope it opened up a spot for someone.
Oh wow congrats! I’m applying from Massachusetts.
My daughter was offered PSA. What are the pros and cons of PSA vs. PTA and going to Blinn? PTA would allow her to be in College Station but what other pros and cons are there to consider? GPA requirements for example? Also are they both TRULY a guarantee?
Thanks for any insight.
Maybe some, but every other school she has applied to, including several big SEC schools, have sent an update to her email to check the portal. It is what it is Thanks so much!
Welp. Got offered PSA today. Guess I’ll be at UH next fall.
I’m so sorry.
Have you considered applying directly to A&M Galveston, majoring in Maritime Business, and then transferring to Main Campus after a year to Mays?
Is this even a possibility, @Christi1993 ?
I suggested the same thing to him last week. Not sure he is interested in that.
Galveston seems nice. I applied to it in no small part because it’s by the sea and is apparently a great fishing spot.
My son applied last week. Currently, he is in the ‘in review’ status. Does anyone know how long they take to make decisions?
Thank you for reporting that and congrats. It’s one of the first reports of a decision for a student who selected “both” options that I’ve seen.
I imagine it’s heavily dependent on college/major. We are still waiting and expect that could go into mid March.
Well, we applied August 1 and still don’t have a decision, if that helps
I’m in the same boat (no pun intended), but I applied on Jan. 21st. My application is still marked as “complete and in review”. Really hope some sort of decision will be made by the end of this week.
