Texas A&M Class of 2029 Official Thread

Yes that is possible. It’s a change of major so would have to apply for part (internally on Howdy). Probably have to complete 30 Aggie hours plus the required courses. Best to talk to Maritime advisor on it. It’s been a while since I looked into it.

Many do the PTA program at Blinn, but check to see if desired major participates. It is definitely a guaranteed admission pathway. Do some research.

PSA is guaranteed as well but at a satellite school.

I think with mass release dates that makes to send an email to check their portals like UT, TCU etc, but with A&M being rolling admissions kids are getting their info all at different times on different days over many months.

I’ve considered it! Just not so sure on the cost since I’m in a tight spot for paying for college. Is it guaranteed to transfer into the major I want? I don’t want to take any huge risks with my major.

Kid got PSA today.. took more than a week for update since change major option disappeared. Declined the PSA offer! Kid has better options for enrollment- presently narrowed down to Rutgers New Brunswick Business school vs Penn State University Park DUS. I hope TAMU gives applicants an option to be not considered for alternate pathways- it will save a lot of time for them and the applicants. For many OOS applicants- College Station is the only campus that makes sense to enroll if accepted. Good luck to all still waiting!

This has been our daughter’s experience so far in Galveston: sheer happiness! Her first choice at the end of this school year will be chem engineering…which makes her move to CStat. She said if they had the program all 4 years in Galveston, she’d stay!

On the A&M Parents of PSA/PTA fb group a mom said her daughter received her TAMUG acceptance exactly three weeks after applying. Hopefully, it will be that fast for us!!

They received my application on the 24th, so here’s to hoping for tomorrow.

If an in-state auto admit, you could hear very quickly - a week or two. But if holistic, it can take many, many, many agonizing months of waiting. TAMU has rolling admissions, so no set schedule. Although they should be done with all decisions by the end of March. I believe May 1 is the latest a waitlisted kid would hear.

I was just curious about Galveston’s timelines, since their application is open until May 1. The student that received her Galveston decision in three weeks received PSA from College Station and then she applied to Galveston.

So far no decision…looks like another week or so of waiting but we’ll have to see.

I have started a new thread for PSA students at the request of a parent. Great idea to build that community for this group and future PSA students. Share/advise/Ask etc. Here it is…

Curious is there is a Gateway thread? I looked but didn’t see one. No biggie!

I haven’t seen one. Question for you, has your kiddo received their official acceptance letter and banner in the mail yet?! Still nothing here!

Our acceptance packet just arrived today and we are located in Houston. Took a while…

Gonna take that thing and lock it in the safe :joy: After he opens it, of course.

Someone I know mentioned to me that a President’s Endowed Scholarship exists at TAMU. Anyone familiar with it? How is it awarded? When? Criteria? Thanks

My family actually has 2 PES’s. It’s based mainly on test scores and solid gpa.

My Aggie was PES. Pretty sure it’s automatic for NM (my ‘23 Ag was NMCommended + great activities/awards, but I’m not sure Commended is even considered anymore for PES).
PES very competitive-test scores, academic & resume.
