My son got his seven tabs this morning!!
Congrats! Galveston? What major?
Yes, Galveston! Maritime Business Admin
That’s great!! Very different major choice from his original 2 choices of FIVS and Genetics tho.
Reach out to Professor Boudreaux if you are Maritime Bus Admin. He is phenomenal and really cares about helping kids reach their goals. He can help you develop a plan to maximize your grades and strategize which classes to take where (such as some at CC). He can show you how you can get a Masters in 5 years or even 4. He will communicate with parents if given permission so you are all on the same page. Great resource!
He doesn’t really know what he wants to do. lol
Thank you! Love this! He definitely will be pursing a grad degree. We are so excited for him to go to Galveston. I think it will be a good fit for him. My husband and I both went to College Station.
My son is graduating in August as a MART Major but has a MARA Minor and considered majoring in that as well. It’s a great program. One thing I liked about Prof Boudreaux is he really laid out the importance of GPA for Grad school or getting a job and was able to lay out “If you get X GPA you can expect Y Salary” which I think really resonated with my son. They also have a phenomenal study abroad program in Copenhagen where you pay the same as if you were doing a Semester in CS, only have to pay for the flight over. Good luck!
Congratulations!! That is exciting. August will be here in no time. I will let my son know. That would probably speak to him as well. That’s sounds amazing! Thank you!
Thank you!!!
Ours was in the mailbox the day I posted this
I agree! I was fully prepared for my son to get a PSA offer and I saw it as having serious value given how competitive it has been, and now even more so going forward. We would have accepted it; recalibrated our mental mindset to our ‘new path’ forward to becoming an Aggie, and pressed on. The one thing that I have consistently read on here, is how anyone who took an alternative pathway to college station (anything other than 100% admittance) has been extremely happy! Far beyond what they anticipated when given their offer. Just my personal observation and something I’ve really read as an overarching theme in this process
My son is NMF, has received the PES and expects to receive the other scholarships guaranteed to NMF. However, my husband is also a veteran with Hazlewood benefits to transfer. I would assume we can apply Hazlewood to tuition (&fees) and then the NMF scholarships to the remaining balance (housing and food). Has anybody done this and know for sure? Or know who I should ask? Thanks!
those that received the “3 options” email last month and chose the “Waitlist AND Team”, has anyone heard anything yet? I’ve been told it will be mid to late March, but I’m just putting my feelers out there to see. Thanks!
Last year it was the week of spring break that decisions went out. They were a mixture of Team and full admit.
I’ve been through these links, they don’t answer my specific question. Thanks.
You have to start by contacting AggieOneStop office, they’ll direct you from there.
Good morning!
I am asking for advice on behalf of my sister, she is wanting to get into a specific dorm hall (Davis Gary) but is scared she will not get it. She paid her deposit around late October. The process is different from when I was a freshman (Fall 2022) so I was looking for any advice on the likelihood of her getting the dorm she wants.
Thanks and Gig’em
Process hasn’t changed, that I know of?
Dorm selection still based on time stamp housing deposit was paid.
Late October isn’t early, but Davis Gary usually doesn’t fill as soon as Hullabaloo and Northside Modulars.
When it’s her time to enter portal, she’ll need to go directly to DG and see if there are any open rooms.
