No email about payment form TAMU yet. I see the option to submit the SRAR but haven’t hit it because we didn’t have the AIS number. Did you just hit the submit button?
Sorry it was late, I mis-spoke. We filled it out last night so that it’s ready to submit. Should read filled out his Srar and sent his official transcript.

Mine got her app submitted last night too! She was able to “submit” the SRAR as far as the SRAR itself being completed, but that is different than linking it to the A&M app which will have to wait until she gets the email and access to the portal.
She emailed her school counselor about sending transcripts. It was unclear as to whether they can be sent through the common app or if it has to be another system so hopefully the school counselor knows the back end of that process. I know they can be uploaded to AIS but the only one we can access has “student transcript” on it.

Good to know about the submit button. I guess we will go ahead and submit so that it is ready to be linked when we get the AIS account.

Please don’t panic!
There is always something each year, which is why most counselors urge you to not feel compelled to try and complete the application the same day it opens.
APPLY TEXAS is newly revised this year - so expect hiccups!

You can work on your #activities statements and make them concise.
- Use action verbs
- Eliminate unnecessary nouns

Please don’t rush through the application!
- It’s more difficult (or impossible) to correct some mistakes.
If the colleges on your list are current and everything is working well - that’s great! 
Take time to #PROOFREAD
- Let an adult go over the application.
- Another pair of eyes
always helps to catch any mistakes. - Don’t rush the process!
- Accuracy is more important than speed!

Thank you will do! We read up on last year’s homeschooled entrants as best we could in the 2028 forum. Are they assigned a class rank right away when they get AiS access?
*For who asked: The new law applies to hopeschoolers having possible access to auto admit via test scores.

I didn’t ask how soon the assignment happens, but in theory I would think they’d gain admittance about the same time as public school kids since the law was created to help that process be more fair.

Agreed and they do assign ranking right away. May take a few days once the AIs opens and you have UIN but then Tamu ranking should appear. If still has X or if you don’t agree (especially ka score is over 1500) then is call admissions to get clarification.

I assume zero impact to admissions odds if the scholarship essay/questions are left blank?
For kids with very good odds of being admitted holistically but basically zero chance of a scholarship, it seems like a waste of time with efforts best spent on the rest. But curious if there is any potential blowback on the admission decision.
None whatsoever. Do not complete scholly apps unless you have a really good shot at getting them. Tamu is stingy.
I would say to fill out the scholarship part if your child has even a tiny interest in the corps. My student got a small corps scholarship even though he had no chance of getting a regular one. Granted, it basically just covers part of being in the corps so it’s not going to make college cheaper, just more cost neutral for the corps.

Those are great stats! Mine is in the top 2% of her school with an unweighted 4.0 (also lots of DE and APs) so would think he should make it with the new law.
Where/how did you submit transcripts? Mine is public school so different than homeschool but we are having to go through the transcript ordering service in the district so I’m trying to determine whether electronic or mail is the best option and also wonder how they "match’ them to the application this early in the process. Do they just get sent to the TAMU admissions office?
For homeschool he lists us as his school counselor and then common app lets us set up an account and upload his transcripts and GPA and such for verification.
I’m not sure how it works for apply Texas, it might be different for them.

Anyone run into problems assigning recommenders in the Common App? It says 2 optional “Other” recommenders are allowed, but when I go to add one it won’t allow it. Very confused.
