Son logged onto Common App for the billionth time and it now says “downloaded by college,” so things are finally moving!

Submitted 8/6 and status just changed to “Downloaded by college”! I didn’t buy that whole line about them not getting it till mid-August. That wouldn’t be normal.

Yes, he filled out the scholarship section. His essay was actually on his very challenging time as crew leader on a 12 day trek at Philmont. It was a very challenging and almost “traumatic/scarring” experience but he has grown from it and wrote a really cool leadership essay about it.
We are praying for all the merit based scholarship that he can get. The Brown scholarship will be out of his grasp because of an “eh” PSAT score. The switch from paper to digital really affected his English score. He studied extra hard for the digital SAT and it paid off.
My daugther completed the Common App on 8/1, her app now says “Downloaded by College.” But I’m wondering if we should fill out Apply Texas today to get an earlier time stamp. She is not top 10% and needs every advantage. Would you guys suggest we complete Apply Texas today?

Unfortunately, if his PSAT isn’t at least NM Commended, chances of merit scholarships will be SLIM.
Any chance your son will earn Eagle this fall, so resume/application can be updated? That would help.

All he has left is his eagle project and I would love him to have it done by Christmas but he was so busy with college stuff this summer that he didn’t focus on it this summer like he should have.

NOoooooo. do not fill out another application format. That will do nothing but confuse the whole situation. there is no time stamp for holistic (maybe August to November matters, but not days or weeks). They won’t even look at holistic til late September or later UNLESS something jumps out at them to make a decision sooner (like perfect score SAT lol).

Same boat too–auto admit daughter applying to Mays. But even with the delays we are all still very ahead of the game and Mays won’t likely “fill up” until September/October.
It is reassuring to see that it moves so quickly once they do have AIS access! Hoping that the transcript sent earlier this week gets processed quickly and then it’s just linking SRAR and uploading LOR.

I hear ya! My son didn’t get Eagle paperwork submitted/signed until hours prior to his 18th bday.
Unless your son completes Eagle by Dec 1-A&M scholarship deadline-Life Rank/working on Eagle won’t help him (as far as TAMU).
I strongly suggest completing Eagle ASAP, so he can apply for Eagle scholarships and update resume for local scholarships.
Eagle can open doors!

Thank you for your help. I will let him know all of this and hopefully it gets his butt moving on it a little faster. His troop is meeting with all of the life scouts in a two Monday’s from now to try and light a fire and get them moving.

Where do we submit letters of recommendation and resumes or are those not needed for A&M?
You upload them in the “my documents” section of the AIS.
The same thing happened here! All scholarship questions answered but it says they have not been completed, to finish them. However, once the application is submitted there is no access available for editing any part of the application. Frustrating…

Letter of Rec Question! Submitted a letter of Rec through Common App. The letter comes from a Coach, but was told to place under Teacher section under “other.” Since the “Other Recommenders” was not available and did not realize letter of recommendations are to be submitted via AIS. What to do?! Thank you very much.
