The two that I know of are not Engineering.
That’s what I’m saying. They’ll get into their major if it’s not engineering. There aren’t other reviews.
Sorry, yes, I was just acknowledging that you were correct and that they were not engineering.
My son used Apply Texas for TAMU and got the green checks, etc.
But he used the CommonApp for several non-Texas applications. Applied on August 3. Got all of the checkmarks in the Common App. Yet, all still say “submitted” - none of the other colleges have “downloaded” his applications or sent him an email with instructions to check status or join the school-specific admission portals. Has anyone else had more progress from other schools (OU, Arky, Tenn, Auburn, Clemson, South Carolina, etc.)? I’m starting to think something is wrong on his end and he needs to take some additional action - but will be patient if it is just the schools taking their time.
I’ve been hearing that even most of the other Texas schools (UT, Texas Tech) haven’t even downloaded the common app yet. It seems like TAMU is the exception on moving quickly rather than the norm, probably due to them doing rolling admissions.
Where is the facebook group or what is it called
Here you go. Texas A&M Class of 2029 - Aggie Parents | Facebook
Ok great. I just signed up. Hope I get accepted
Enjoy. I really enjoy both of these groups. So much great info from everyone.
My son applied to multiple schools, including TAMU, both instate and out of state via the common app on 8/12/24. Only school to have downloaded the application is TAMU. All others state that the applications have been “submitted”. Hope this helps.
Yes, helps a ton. Thanks!!
My is in the process for other in state and out of state schools and only TAMU and UTD have downloaded.
My son woke up to 7 tabs today!
Common App submitted 8/7
UIN/AIS access 8/9
Homeschooled
1470 SAT
He was originally ranked in the top quarter; it was changed to top 10% overnight. He saw the ranking change at the same time as he saw the 7 tabs this morning.
Congrats! What major and did he have a lot of Dual Credit taken at Community College?
Engineering (Under review on AIS).
16 hours of DC with 12 more during senior year.
6 AP classes (incl Calc AB, Bio, CSA and both Physics Cs) with more scheduled this year.
Hey guys, I’m a high school c’o 2025 prospective c’o 2029 student!
Yep that totally make sense. He’s well prepared for college courses. Coming in with so many DC hours, you’ll want to be slow to accept AP credit. He’ll need to talk to advisor before doing so. He’ll have til senior year to accept so no rush. May want to pad a semester and retake for instance.
Congrats again.
Finally got all the green checks and 7 tabs! So exciting! This is way different than my CO23 kid who was not auto-admit. Even though TAMU is not his first choice at the moment I am so glad to not have to stress over this, he would be very happy as an engineering Aggie!
My son’s stat:
SAT 1460, weighted gpa 4.3/5.0, unweighted 3.68, top quartile of a very competitive high school (class size around 800), 32 college credit hours, many AP and honor classes. AP scholar with distinction
But EC is pretty standard, including marching band, lots of volunteering hrs, many non-profit tutoring, NHS…
Any chance for Mays business school? He applied early and every things required are green checked in AIS on 8/10. Pending for teachers’ recommendation letters that definitely will be sent some time by August end.
When he will probably hear back from TAMU?
His SAT is solid. His course rigor sounds solid too. He should be admitted but when that happens is too early to tell without seeing other holistics admitted along with their stats.
Most holistic hear back in January for those admitted. However some start hearing back as early as September but that is rare.
Keep the faith!
Do you know his DC gpa by chance?
