My daughter had similar stats last year and was admitted to CoSci on Dec. 15.

Does she like the program so far? What is the culture and feel of the program? While it is a relatively large Construction Science program relative to other schools, it seems like a smaller major at TAMU.
She loves it although she feels at a disadvantage to the kids who have prior experience in the construction industry. This is her sophomore year, and the estimating class is particularly difficult. Her freshman year - one CoSci prof was impossible to understand (language barrier) and one was a guy had decades of experience in the field but was not a strong teacher. Nevertheless, she did well and believes it is the right degree for her. The job prospects are great. The kids in the major develop tight bonds because it is a small group and because many do study abroad together. We’ve been pleased so far. But it is difficult and requires a lot of work. Def. not an “easy” path. And CoSci still has a “good ol’ boy” feel to it - so she is a bit of a fish out of water. Overall, I’d recommend it provided your kid is a strong student with a good work ethic and enjoys project management.

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to get a single dorm as a freshman? I submitted my housing deposit within minutes of it opening to secure a good place in line, but I keep seeing that it’s a nightmare to get one and that especially freshman won’t get one.

If you are indeed in the 1st wave of housing selection, you stand a chance! Do your research tho well ahead of time-look at every dorm on ResLife website, to see which dorms offer true singles (there aren’t many). Be open to all dorms, not just Hullabaloo, have a plan.
If female it’s pretty easy to get a single in Davis Gary if you are in the first wave. It’s all female and all single dorm rooms. My daughter loved it there! She lived there for two years.

Has anyone tried to pay housing fee yet? We tried to start phase 1 yesterday and I still have not received the proxy email? Anyone else?

We were able to get housing deposit Friday morning when it first opened. The proxy email came to my email instantly. Are you using a phone or computer?–some said they were having trouble on their phones so had to switch to a computer.

Daughter applied on Thursday night, today she got admitted to “Engineering Review” with a letter and says can apply for housing, but link doesn’t take us to the next instructions.
Go to reslife.tamu.edu, then under “Housing Application”, click on “MyHousing Portal.” Log in with NetID and password.
If you haven’t already, read the “Academic Year Application Process” page to get an overview of everything.

Thank you for the links, none of the housing links lets us apply for housing. I called reslife today, they said it takes 24-48 hours to activate hosuing link after a student admitted to university. We will just have to wait.
