Texas A&M Class of 2029 Official Thread

Not sure how many holistic get accepted to UH; I’m sure you could ask.
Unless they have tweaked it, UH doesn’t give acceptances until late spring.

Are you OOS? My 2026 OOS son did Discover Aggieland in 2022 and that is not the same as Aggieland Saturday. Discover Aggieland was SOOOOOO worth it. But I’m not sure what Destination Aggieland is.

Do they have anything like an admitted students day before May? Or is the Aggieland day in February the one. We haven’t done any of the big events other than touring the campus ourselves and the Mays tour and presentation.

There is no ‘admitted student’ day.

YMMV, but we attended a “big” typical admitted student day at my 26Aggie’s 2nd choice school. After spending two full days at Discover Aggieland the weekend before, he felt like he was not special at all at the other school and like they were herding cattle. I don’t know if they still do it, but Discover Aggieland was an invitation-only 2-day event for a capped number of certain OOS students and that event was definitely worth it. With our upcoming Class of 2029 student, we will be avoiding the “admitted student days” and figuring out how to do our own thing.

During the February Aggieland Saturday, they do have a session specifically for admitted students. Otherwise, all their other activities are relevant to anyone – campus tours, college/department presentations, band performances, corps drills, club/org information tables, etc.

Is there something specific you’re hoping to experience?

I know you’re in Business, but for any Engineering peeps out there, in January some of you might be interested in the SWE High School Conference. The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) organizes a 2-day event (Fri-Sat) for high school students (guys and girls) to come learn about Engineering from faculty and current students, participate in design challenges, take tours, eat in the dining hall, and here’s the cool thing – sit in an actual Engineering lecture class and a lab during a school day. (Prior to the pandemic, they even had students stay in the dorms, but that went away and never came back.)

No idea if a similar “classroom experience” thing exists for other majors/organizations (other than the YAP summer camps).

So still no news of any holistic applicants getting 7 tabs or any signs of acceptance yet?:folded_hands:

Has anyone been accepted OOS yet? we are in the same boat holistic review students it seems. They don’t seem to let in OOS students until they have let in other first waves of applications. Frustrating, because it seems we will be way behind in putting down a housing deposit. This makes it impossible for OOS students to have top choices for housing. We really tried to get the application in right away in order to have housing choices.

@Jessica_R , only holistic applicants with high scores might hear back in the fall. Otherwise, most holistic applicants will wait until January at the earliest.

my bad. it is Discover Aggieland. We are in state and it’s one day. what did they do?

Thank you!

Nothing particular to experience, but have seen a few smaller events that haven’t worked out timing wise. The Engineering conference you described would be a great experience if they had that for business students!

Only one day and you are in-state? They must do different Discover Aggieland programs then for in and OOS or maybe they’ve changed it since 2022. Ours was 2 nights at the on-campus hotel, and programming, tours, and social activities Sunday evening and all day Monday, dinner reception with a special guest, meeting with department, breakfast on Tuesday and then some more optional Tuesday stuff (baseball game). It was an impressive recruitment event.

Folks, I am trying to upload document in AIS portal. Have tried it multiple times but it doesn’t show up in uploaded documents. Any suggestions on this - has anyone faced similar issue.

We are in state, meals and parking included but no hotel. We went to sign up but it’s already full. I’m sad they didn’t say space was limited as it filled up within 48 hours. Thanks for the info, though. Hopefully, they will have another date in the future.

Back in 2022, they had about one per month it seemed. My son was getting invites to it from August to February when we finally went to it.

Have you checked that the document is a jpeg or pdf or other accepted file? Is it uploading at all or giving an error message from the get go?

No error - It shows some true value against the document. Then once i hit refresh it says no document uploaded

What does 7 tabs mean ?

Works now .. Thanks

I know. Just asking to see how others are progressing along to pass the time while I continue to wait. lol This is just one of those mini milestones along the way that show the process is slowly moving.
