This is the message we see. Her application status only says In Review not admitted in review. However, the howdy portal shows tabs for scheduling classes etc.
On Howdy portal, I do see option to register for fall 2025 classes, saying your student status permits registration, but there is a hold. The hold is to select fixed or variable tuition rates. Do we need to select it before it allows us to move forward? I thought that is only necessary after accepting admissions.
The 7 tabs in Howdy portal comes first but you need the official “you’ve been admitted” in AIS to access housing and pay the deposit. When did your student apply? That should come soon!
This is not true. Mays does occasionally offer more spots. It does not happen every year, but it does happen. My son (‘27) was originally admitted to Sports Management as a holistic applicant as Mays was full. While at our NSC he got a call that Mays was under enrolled and did he still want to be a business major. We switched course mid-NSC and he’s now in Mays.
Has anyone been to Discover Aggieland? It’s a one day event.
We had just planned our own visit and today mine gets an email for Discover Aggieland which is happening just a few days after when we were going to visit on our own. We can easily cancel our own visit and do Discover Aggieland but wanting to get more info on what it’s like and if they include dorm/residence halls tours as that is one of our primary reasons for the visit we had planned (and in general exploring the campus and area of course!).
We went to Discover Aggieland this past summer. It inlcuded a campus tour, dorm tours, and several panels talking to the students about various aspects of being and Aggie. I think it was very informative. We also went on a self designed tour earlier in the summer. We may have learned a little bit more at Discover Aggieland.
Over at the FB page someone is reporting that their holistic review student has been admitted. And someone else just reported that they have moved from Engineering Review to Mechanical Engineering. I thought it would go to General Engineering first but it looks like things are starting to move on the holistic student and engineering fronts.
It should go from “Engineering Review” to “General Engineering.” You can’t get “Mechanical Engineering” until you go through the ETAM application process (after freshman year) and successfully earn it.
@ched03 if it’s Aggie Parents page, take it all with a grain of salt. Helicopter admins…life is too short for that page.
Anyway, NO ONE changes from General Engineering…until end of freshman year (at the earliest) and they’ve gone thru ETAM.
Don’t believe everything that is posted, especially if on Aggie Parents…
This is the much better page (IMO). Admin Pat doesn’t allow drama and shoots down ‘helicoptering’.
Aggie Parents is good for scuttlebutt during dorm selection…that’s about it.
