If a student wants to change majors that should be changed before nsc registration, correct?
Daughter is accepted for psych and wants to go into nursing but is considering switching to nutrition (still with a plan to apply to nursing) after her nursing school admissions visit. She has an appt with an admissions counselor to discuss but that’s not til October 30th…
Typically you’ll need to email the advisor in the dept you want to switch to and see what they will require to get it done. And yes, should be done before NSC. Since it’s so early in the process, get this communication done asap. Which it sounds like you are.
Keep us posted.
Yep, I can confirm as well. I tried it out just to see…my daughter’s school doesn’t publish rankings, so we had no info to include in that field…I wouldn’t have expected her list to include TAMU or UT, but it didn’t even include Texas Tech or UTA (and she was in the October 3 bucket of holistic admits to TAMU).
7 tabs today! whoop! where again do we see the major? in my excitement, I can’t find it.
ETA: never mind, found it in AIS. he last checked 2 days ago so Howdy and AIS were pretty simultaneous.
Major?
construction science. stats up in post dated Sept. 13.
Congratulations! We are anxiously waiting…
Did he get Arch or Cosci?
Congrats!
Just saw that you put Cosci. I guess Arch is full already. That’s crazy.
My son got his official acceptance to A&M last Thursday (10/10). But once he was able to access the housing area to put a deposit down, he just sees a message that they are having technical difficulties. We’ve checked every day and same thing. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if it’s just us? We are anxious to get that deposit down.
My daughter is a CoSci major (sophomore). “Construction Science” is a major in the “College of Architecture.” There is no “Architecture” undergraduate major, only “Environmental Design” (which is the traditional architecture/design degree) and CoSci. (There used to be 3 majors - including Visualization, but it moved out of the College of Architecture.) So, I don’t think “Environmental Design” or “The College of Architecture” is full; rather I think her son applied to CoSci in the College of Architecture - as first choice and got it. But @dawn3 can confirm.
he actually ranked cosc as first choice, so arch/environmental design is probably still open. I didn’t know the “real” name for arch, so that was helpful Rachel.
we have been unable to apply for housing as well. eta: we haven’t been able to do anything with housing. it looks like you at least got it started.
Call ResLife!
Okay happy for the clarification. On the 9/13 post you listed Arch then CoSci so I just assumed. My bad. Thank you and congrats again. It’s an amazing major.
There is a BS in Architecture, just FYI.
Here’s the link
thank you. he was considering both but decided to go cosc undergrad, arch masters. it will be 7 years that way, but it gives him more options and aligns better with what he wants to do. we are excited for him.
Very exciting!
So strange - the link you posted reads: “Prepare for a career in architecture by majoring in environmental design.” But when I click, I see a BS in Architecture, which did not exist when my daughter applied. So maybe they renamed it.
They did rename it back in 2023. They wanted to be more direct about what it is, but agree that the title is of article is totally misleading.
In fact there aren’t even ENDS courses any more except 1.
