Gateway is straight admission to A&M after the summer. If you are TEAM, you go to A&M for half of your classes and Rellis the other half of your classes. On TEAM it is a minimum of one year on team, with most majors taking longer. My son received TEAM, but is rocking it. Hoping to get straight A&M in August.
I just remembered how amazing this thread was last year and decided to jump on as a former stressed out parent. Last year when my son applied for Sports Management, he was top 13% of his class of 500. My son was given the 3 options on January 29th. After advice for this thread, he decided TEAM only was the best option to ensure he gets in. His friend also received the 3 options the same day he did. His friend decided on “Consideration for Waitlist & Team”. My son received TEAM, but it took waaaaaaay longer than previous years. In the past, it took around 2 weeks. Last year, we waited the whole month of February. There were several of us on here waiting patiently that picked TEAM only. It wasn’t until end of February that we received the 7 tabs. My son’s friend who picked both did not make Team, he only made Program for System Admission.
I cannot think of one person on here that picked TEAM only that did not get in. If your child really wants to be an Aggie, like our 4th generation son now, you should think about picking TEAM. Hunter takes 2 classes at A&M right now and 3 classes at Rellis. He loves being an Aggie, and enjoys having a sports pass… heeeheehee. (BTW, you want to make sure you sign up for the sports pass on day one. They actually sold out if you waited too long)
If you have any other questions about TEAM, feel free to ask away. I feel you pain, but it is all worth it in the end.
You’re a godsend. Summon all other parents of previous applicants. this has now transitioned to a support group

I don’t recall the stats of those offered full admit.
Hang in there. My daughter was accepted to TAMU in December 2023 - decent stats. By contrast, her roommate was admitted - full admission - in March. Second quarter, test optional. So, you just never know. Keep your expectations low but hope for the best.
My son applied August 1 and still hasn’t heard. His stats are ok, but not as strong as our daughter’s, so we are expecting TEAM but still clinging to hope for Gateway or Full. He has been an Aggie fan his whole life and wants to join the Corps, so we’ll encourage him to take the TEAM offer if he gets one, but he is dead set on full admission or he’s going to OU on a scholarship. So, despite being third generation Aggie - he may (happily) become a Sooner. It is wild the way it all works out.
Did anyone else’s student receive an email from A&M this evening stating that while they are still extending full offers, some students became Aggies through alternative pathways? It goes on to say that while waiting it’s a good time to explore the other pathways and keep checking the portal for an admission decision. Does everyone who is still waiting receive message or is there more to it?
We got the same email.
My kid received it. Looks like it means that they are going to the next type of alternative pathways soon. He applied very late to Mays and it was full soon after.
Got the same mail - Applied in Oct (Eng as 1st choice)
My son received that same email this evening.
We got the same email and we applied 8/1 1st qtr.
My daughter received same email…applied 8/1.
Same! She is 1st quarter, good ACT, several APs, leadership, strong resume and essays. We are waiting on the Bush School.
No but got this. Waiting is Hard… But We’ve Got Some News Coming Your Way Soon!
You didn’t ge the email about alternative pathways but received a different email saying “good news coming soon”?
surely to god a 1st qtr student isn’t getting a pathway?? I’m not understanding any of this at all.
If you all don’t mind sharing stats, it may be a good way to figure out if it was sent to most…
Sorry. We did get the same message as others. That was the subject line
We got the email too! Applied 8/9, 1st quarter, sociology
maybe they are just getting inundated with inquiries and they sent an email to let people know decisions ARE being made. I mean, for those who applied 8/1, that is LONG TIME to hear NOTHING.
