Sorry, I can’t help you there.
You just have to wait, but don’t expect to get anything. TAMU is stingy with scholarships and unless you are NM, chances of getting a scholarship are very small. Even NM scholarships are small compared to what other schools give.
I think ETAM may be somewhat easier at Galveston than at Blinn because you only have one GPA to worry about at Galveston versus two at Blinn (Blinn GPA and TAMU GPA). However, with TEAB you are in CSTAT your first year. It is easier to meet people and join orgs in Galveston, but there are a lot more options for orgs, etc. in CSTAT.
Consci Is small department.
The stats look good. Team is a whole different beast. And hard to tell who will get that offer. But yes, the stats provided could lend towards team. I’m still hoping there will be one more full admit round but typically once these emails start going out, there are very few spots left.
On Rambo’s AP physics. Made an A
AP calculus BC. Current grade a 95
AP Bio II
Sorry. On Ramps Physics AP via UT
I can’t say too much about the benefits of Bama and my son’s experience on this thread, but you can feel free to PM me or ask me over on the Bama thread. He was going for CS and was really scared off by the ETAM process. He was also a bit insulted to not be offered full admission at TAMU, but that was kinda dumb. He loved EVERYTHING about Bama. I will say the job market for CS has gotten extremely tough and I’m sure being a Bama student didn’t help when applying for internships in Houston, but it looks like he will have one in Birmingham this summer. If you haven’t had a VIP tour at Bama, reach out to your local rep and set one up asap…it’ll be way better than just Tide Days.
when will the decision come out?
Thank you!!! Is small department a good thing….or a bad thing?? lol
I saw this posted in a Facebook group:
Small is good if you make it into the program lol but it is competitive. Very good degree from Tamu. High placement rate.
Thanks for the pic of fb post. Usually once that is sent out, there are very few full admits posted on here.
I’m back reading on the Jan/Feb 2024 thread and noticing several TEAM emails that student stats were 2nd qtr.
A little surprised to see that, I recall reading in this thread that 2nd qtr isn’t as promising.
If 1st choice is Construction Science and they are offered TEAM, it’s just Blinn at that point, not a specific major. He will have to transfer in when the move is made?
Am I understanding that correctly? So being a small department wouldn’t matter?
So, with my TEAM kid, she applied to a certain major at A&M…and was admitted to TEAM. From there, she visited with her advisor about “I changed my mind, I don’t want to do X major, I want to do Y major” and was given the requirements to transfer into that department (neither are Mays or Engineering).
That’s not exactly what you asked, so I’ll translate to the best of my understanding. A TEAM major is effectively like a General Studies major, and you have to meet both the transfer guidelines to get into your major and the higher standard that TEAM kids have to follow. For some majors those are one and the same.
We anticipate her leaving TEAM after the summer, as she’ll have all her requirements…so long as she holds GPA this spring.
Mods, if I’ve got that wrong, correct me.
Here’s the TAP link for TEAM.

“Very few full admits”…would that pertain to all majors?
They can certainly apply. They may or may not get scholarships but they should go for it. A&M has a scholarship application for returning students it opens each winter before break and is due Feb 1 each year. My daughter has a 4 year partial scholarship from A&M but she still does that returning student application each year for additional scholarship money. My daughter has received $1000 from it each year. Some departments do their scholarships through that one app. My daughter’s department doesn’t so she has to do a separate application for her school (PVFA) and major (Visualization) level scholarships and they are longer and more complicated but she has received $3000 from them each year. We are hoping for the same for next year- her senior year! Goes by fast! So find out if his engineering program has a separate application for returning student scholarships or if it is built into the university one. Encourage him to do the scholarship application(s). I send reminders . They get so busy and bogged down with school work it’s easy for them to not do it. I stay out of her school work but I am involved in the financial part and housing part.
I know it doesn’t really matter, but would it hurt to change major at this point if first choice is business, second choice communications?
My son is the exact same way!! He doesn’t even check Howdy daily. I force him to check twice a week so that I will know. I’m so nervous for him but he’s cool as a cucumber.
Thanks for your feedback!
I think one of his downfalls may be hitting the Send button late.
He was dragging his feet on the questions portion and finally submitted November.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda!
Here’s the answer to your question, about changing majors at this point.
TAMU admits to the university first, then major.
Thank you for that. However, in reading 2028 thread, it seemed some were delayed for TEAM that had first choice as business/full major. Should we change it just in case?
