What are your students stats, and when did they apply?

Wondering if Sport Mgt in college of education would be a good option.
I wouldn’t change 1st choice major at this point. Like @52AG82 said, you’re admitted to Tamu and then a major. If it makes you feel more comfortable, call admissions at main campus and ask their Opinion. They may say it doesn’t matter so go ahead or they may say don’t touch a thing.
On AIS, if you see your first choice major change to 2nd choice then you’re about to be admitted. If you see change major button disappear, then you’re getting PSA.
@Christi1993 and @52AG82, thank you both for your sound advice! Hoping for TEAM and will make the phone call you suggested. Appreciate all of your insight on this long journey to finding the right place.
Did TAMU rank him 1st qtr?
Now there is a chance of snow on Tuesday. Hopefully weather doesn’t shut down the admission office for another day or two next week.
I would definitely expect a delay-holiday on Monday, A&M canceled Tuesday & potentially on Wednesday. Every major ISD in Greater Houston has already canceled T & Wednesday. Power outages are certain to happen.
I finally made it through the remainder of the February through March 2024 comments in last year‘s thread.
It was like binge watching an awesome TV show that has come to an end….
I hopped over here, anticipating lots of chatter from the weekend to catch up on, and y’all have been pretty quiet!
Now I have to wait for next season to begin
The anticipation of the 7 tabs, the 3 options - my tummy hurts. And it was so drawn out last year! If there are record number applicants this year, I can’t imagine what that has in store for us in the next 12 weeks
Buckle up!
I’m on like Season 10 I think! I can say there are no cliff hangers come May. And the After the Diploma episode in 4 years, is so rewarding.
Go grab some popcorn and hang in there.
With the help of @FriscoDad and @Christi1993 my kiddo got in general engineering exactly two years ago.
ETAM was no joke and she was lucky being auto-ETAM to her first choice major last year with no prior Python experience. I felt grateful my little girl was not the stubborn kind and she followed @Friscodad ETAM preparation list back in her 12th grade. My kiddo is not the super smart ones so having the advice from this forum made huge difference in her path to college!
Please share the @FriscoDad ETAM Prep List.
If you accept TEAM Blinn and transfer to the university after 2. Years, What are your chances of getting into the college of engineering
Hi all! My daughter is a current Freshman in TEAM. She found out around Jan 17 (I think?) last year in first round of offers to straight TEAM (no options via email). She had a very high GPA, very competitive school, ECs, captain, and was barely 2nd quarter. She was a true holistic in that her course load accelerated over high school and her grades got better, etc. She found her niche and took some specialized courses in high school as well that aligned with her major.
She has had good and bad days with TEAM. I have heard her say repeatedly that you have to be organized to do TEAM. It is 2 of everything, so I wanted to make sure everyone understands this for your kid so you can either be ready to really help guide them or start working on time management and schedules/organizers now to set them up for success. She did phenomenal her first semester and is on track to get out in 1 year.
No one, not one person, has ever made her feel less than for being a TEAM student. So, if that is something your kiddo is concerned about, they should not be.
Good luck to all of yall waiting impatiently. it is ROUGH, but you have to remember it will all work out and your kiddo will end up where they should be. Please let me know if I can help answer any questions! I will be back here next year going through this with my son!
Engineering is called TEAB. It usually takes one year. It’s not a transfer because you’re already going to Tamu main campus as well as blinn. You ETAM for your specific engineering major. If you are unfamiliar with this process, highly suggest diving in. Engineering at Tamu is completely different than most schools… not just alternative pathways, but even those as full admits.
I was doing some research (well my daughter and I were) with the different pathways and we came across PTA? Is that something that the applicant can choose or is it offered and how is it different from PSA? I’m pretty up to speed on TEAM but confused how PSA and PTA differ?
PSA is at a system school like TAMU Corpus or Tarleton etc. and is offered by admissions.
PTA are classes taken at a community college. It is a guaranteed admission possibility and isn’t offered.. you just take it. Can’t sign the agreement til after the student graduates from high school. There are some hoops to jump through but it is all on the up and up and very doable. Not all majors participate, but many do.
Editing to add more content: 30 hours must be completed POST high school at a community college.. Dual credit and AP do not count in that 30. Must have a 3.2. And when you sign your agreement, it’s for a specific major that they will not let you change once admitted (typically).
Thank you for explaining. Makes more sense now because the part about being a graduate from high school was throwing us off - ha. If taking classes over the summer, can those be applied to the 30 hours?
Yes. Anything post high school graduation. You would have to sign contract first though. Making sure all your ducks are in a row. But you’re not there yet… of course always good to know your options.
True…thanks again!
