Texas A&M Class of 2029 Official Thread

Totally biased towards TCU out of those options! My oldest is there and he *loves• it, we love it, and their business school is AMAZING!
Very best wishes to your son. Sounds like a great kid who will succeed everywhere!

Yes!! Praying next week is our week to hear some news

Correct. The 7 tabs only show once you have been accepted into TAMU. With this being options - not been accepted yet.

It has happened but very few… like very very few and no idea how it was determined. So I don’t want anyone to hold out hope for that. Whatever you decide to choose, be ecstatic and know that TEAM is an Aggie with all the access like any other Aggie.

This is rough! If it’s a no, just send it already!! No changes in anything for my son’s
portal.

I concur. No change in my son’s portal as well.

We have three options of waitlist/team, team only, or waitlist only. Applied to nutrition in at and life sciences. Not sure team is a good option since he already has about 30 hours credit and will apply to nursing schools during sophomore year. What is waitlist only? Does anyone ever get an offer off the waitlist? Looking for guidance. We have been accepted with scholarships to 4 SEC out of state schools. So trying to figure out next steps.

A&M Nursing School in insanely difficult to get into. If he’s got direct admit to any Nursing programs, hands down, take that!
TAMU Waitlist usually doesn’t end well, unless REALLY high stats…and they may not hear until March.
Take a direct admit Nursing program…

Unfortunately, none of the programs for nursing are direct admit that he has been accepted to.

That’s a bummer. I’d look at all their websites and compare admission rate. For real, it’s like a needle in a haystack to get in at A&M. If I had a kid who wanted nursing, I would NOT let them go to A&M.

We had 3 options listed today.

Even if get full admit it may be opportunity majors and not what he wants. It truly is risky. For your son id dobboth since he has other offers that make more sense than team. My 2 cents.

Agree completely! Make the decision and let us know! No changes in our portal either!

Hello to you too! We never all did that wine-out we said we would last year…

To the folks who got options today…I can’t stress this enough…follow the advice. I promise we would’ve chosen “both” had we not found this board. I’m 100% sure my kid wouldn’t be at A&M too.

Christi made a comment above that we were doubting the advice. It’s counter intuitive, sure, but the past years threads showed what she was saying…no one had reported that they chose TEAM only and not gotten TEAM. We only “lost faith” because in all past years it had gone to admission offer in about a week, then 2 weeks in 2023. Our wait was 5 weeks, and it got rougher as time went on.

One other note on TEAM that Christi says which is completely true. Literally, no one on campus cares. Your kid gets to do the exact same things as any other A&M student - sports pass, rec center, classes on campus, live in the dorm (if any spots remain), join an org…all of it. The kids don’t ask if you’re in TEAM and then shun you - literally, no one cares. My daughter has joined an org, a sorority, goes to the football games, works out at the rec, got the mailed Aggie banner-every bit of it.

To those still waiting - don’t give up. Some positivity trickled in for others during our wait (made us wonder if we were gonna be the magical ones left out - go read the ‘24 thread). Also, it appears Gateway hasn’t come out yet…it was out before Options last year, so that’s a change.

Son got official Blinn Team acceptance notice on his AIS portal today, so we registered for NCS in June. Tried to access housing application to pay the deposit, but the term/deposit option doesn’t appear (or I can’t find it). When can he pay that deposit? Does it take a day or two or more for the housing portal to open after admission? Or is on-campus full already? (He may join the Corps, but want to get him in line for other on campus housing just in case.) Thanks.

Take the UT offer!! My son is now a sophomore Econ (BS) major at UT. He was admitted to TAMU Mays (auto admit) but ultimately chose UT. He just approved for a minor in accounting and will be applying to the McCombs Masters Bridge program fall of Junior year.

Not new info, and very much needed. Campus and B/CS infrastructure just can’t keep up.

UGH…My son got his “options email” during school and clicked on the “Waitlist and Blinn Team” option because to any rational thinking individual, that seems to be the most logical choice for someone who is desperate to maximize their options. Did he inadvertently screw himself?? Anything we can do at this point to salvage this?
