Well if it was an hour between arriving at the mat for the first two teams then maybe has team wins anyway - they sure didn’t make it seem the whole race like they were that far apart - that had to be some WILD delays! It sure seemed clear from Cab talk that the first two were minutes - maybe single digits apart!
Wow, an hour difference seems very surprising since all the teams were close at the Empire State Building. I guess J&J must have finished the fabric task much more quickly than it seemed, plus the crossword difficulty. I wonder how far behind Joseph and Adam were and if production would have intervened if the production problems have impacted the outcome. Seems different than a bad taxi driver or a car problem. Taylor also said that the crossword clues did not require a detailed knowledge of the race.
I loved how as they were in the final hours of racing for a million $ they all seemed genuinely excited to stop and talk to Cookie Monster and Oscar.
It ended the way I thought it would. It wasn’t the most exciting finale. I wouldn’t have rappelled down the ESB (I also wouldn’t have made it to the final leg) but I didn’t think any of them weren’t going to at that point. In addition to the Seasame Street stop the best part was the total uncaring attitude of the busy New Yorkers they passed with the carts.
Oh and another comment. What was even the point of that penultimate episode cliff hanger between Izzy/Paige and Joseph/brother? I have to wonder if Izzy/Paige were popular enough that the show didn’t want to lose them (and some audience?) for the finale. Once they were out I was indifferent who would win - but of course I’d always watch the finale.
Did anyone else notice that the bakery had a half dozen or so special cookie boxes?
Yup
Maybe the cookies had to be delivered whole? So extra boxes in case they dropped them??
I thought I had heard that they sometimes use eliminated teams in the final legs as decoys to prevent spoilers. Not sure if that is true.
It seems like, of all places, the streets of NY are where pictures can be taken and spoilers released.
FWIW, the spoilers were accurate
Yes, I realize that. However, we don’t know if the spoilers came from people on the streets of NY, people in production, family, friends, etc.
I think that’s so the teams didn’t know what place they were. They wouldn’t know how many were there to begin with.
Y’all, I had lunch yesterday with a guy who knows a previous TAR winner well. He told me one of their hints for doing well. Do y’all want to hear? If not, PM me and I’ll msg you. Won’t be until tonight.
Not sure which I want to know more, the hint or who it is. ![]()
Agreed!
That seems unfair. Hmmmmmm
Yes please! Even if it’s in a DM!
I want to know!
So do I!
I’m pretty sure production would have intervened if the technical issues were impacting the outcome. So I assume that by then, Jag & Jas had already reached the mat. The teams don’t seem to have been as close to each other as they made it look.
