The Amazing Race 2025

It amazes me that after 142 seasons of the Amazing Race, being required to drive a stick still comes as a surprise to at least half the teams. Swimming, riding a bike, having to do some basic sports things like kick a ball or hit a tennis ball? Really people, prepare. I get not knowing how to guide an elephant or dance with a basket on your head, but swimming?

Did you notice that the clue said both teams need to enter the water? It didn’t say that both needed to swim to the buoy. Lori just walked in. Scott swam out to the buoy.

Just watched last week’s episode. It seemed like a very unfair setup with no real way for the U-turned teams to pass any other teams due to only a roadblack ahead. The roadblock was somewhat luck based. Hate to see a strong team sent home on that basis (even though the team that went was not my favorite).

I could never have done the surfboard thing

Sad about the team that left last night.

yeah, didn’t want pops to get out. too bad

It was interesting that most of them got the high tea challenge done in one try. The surfboard challenge was cool - but even then, 3 was the max number of attempts. Are the teams just getting better at all these challenges OR are the challenges getting simpler?

I remember the days when it used to be a simple detail that tripped a team up and really changed the ordering.

Last week the coral challenge so tripped up the parents of 8 boys so much they went home—the other team that was u-turned did that task much faster and survived as a result.

Such a close finish! Sad to see that team go home. I really liked them. Pops was awesome!

Yes. But the two teams that got u-turned pretty much ended up at the bottom and one had to lose. If one of the other teams (that didn’t get u-turned) had to struggle significantly with a challenge, we’d have seen more churn in the ordering.

It was sad that this week, the foot race at the end decided it. Loved pops’ enthusiasm though, especially when he talked about skydiving!

Finally got caught up on the last two episodes. I was sorry to see Scott/Lori and Jeff/Pops go, although reading their post loss interviews led me to both Lori’s and Jeff’s Instagram accounts. Both seem to really enjoy life. From the interviews I learned that Scott and Lori’s coral had dried and so it was hard to see the colors until they thought to re-wet it and that Pop’s ankle was swollen like a grapefruit from an old injury.

The way they did the two team U turn was interesting since normally one Uturns a team behind them and this time every team was eligible and starting the tasks at the same time. Anyone know if they’ve ever done it that way before?

I like all the remaining teams except Jonathan. He is so much drama.

Is Jonathan the guy who was visibly unhappy coming in second in the first leg?

Two consecutive weeks, a fan favorite team goes home.

Finally watched the latest episode -I’m loving this season!

Sad to see Pops and his son go.

I love that there doesn’t seem to be a front runner yet. Everyone is really good.

He’s definitely getting the bad edit this season. He was so awful in the latest episode - kept harping that she made the wrong decision!! Seriously? And then saying ā€œhow he just can’t get lucky..ā€. Ugh.

That was an interesting episode. Although I do still feel that things are dragging with the 90 minute format.

They didn’t show him beating himself up after getting the car stuck in the ditch.

Definitely the bad edit. They make him seem like he thinks that he’s such a victim. I couldn’t live with someone like that. I know the editing likely makes him seem worse than he is, but editing doesn’t make him say those things. That’s all on him.

Poor Mike and Nick. I’m sure that one or two logs not on the second load will haunt them. But then again you have to have a strategy for needle in a haystack tasks. Any TAR watcher knows that. I’m surprised Melinda and Erika lasted this long but good on them. Me yelling at the tv for no one to help Jonathan after HE parked the car in the ditch. I absolutely love Alyssa and Josiah. They are so enthusiastic. Yay Bulgaria! Yay sheep milking! Yay a trip to MOROCCO!!!

Jonathon must have some redeeming qualities, as Ana seems to be supportive of him. I thought he did take responsibility for getting the car stuck. While not my favorite team, I was glad they got help to get out of the ditch.

I think Mike and Nick will also kick themselves when they see that the bracelet was visible on top of the hay. Not sure at what point that became visible. I like the DnD boys so glad they stayed, but tough way for Mike and Nick to go out. As the teams often say, the never give up until Phil tells you your are eliminated.

Was it announced (and I missed it) that there would be no non-elimination legs? I was certain the brothers would be spared.

Still loving the season. And yes, I like the cute couple too (Alyssa and Josiah).

The non-elimination leg was removed a few years ago, effective season 34. As we are on season 37, announcing that there is still no non-elimination leg is akin to announcing that Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead
