I remember they spoke and then moved to the seats next to them because they agreed to help each other.
So, the non-elimination leg returns!
I was so surprised. I guess Iād gotten so used to hearing Phil say āWILL be eliminatedā that I didnāt notice that he didnāt say it. That was a fun leg in Naples. And made me so hungry for a good pizza. Loved Anaās joy at her Dominos experience helping her rock that challenge.
What was up with Jonathan in this episode? He was so even keeled compared to previous episodes.
They were winning! Easier to maintain your cool when you are on top.
I was looking down on my phone looking for something, looked up and was so confused, H told me it was a non elimination round, I didnāt think they did them anymore. H is a guitar player who also plays the mandolin, but heās also tried making fresh mozzarella, so he was torn, but the mozzarella challenge seemed to be just getting the weight right. I donāt think it wouldāve gone well if he had to instruct me on stringing the mandolin, which he can do in his sleep.
Yeah but they werenāt winning the entire leg and they were alone at the mandolin so didnāt know where they stood relative to others.
Jonathan found his moment of Zen trimming out that mandolin!
Still loving the season! So much joy in these teams.
And happy to learn there are still some non-elimination legs!
Iād have been much better at the mandolin challenge than the cheese.
It would have been
for me!
Another great country/city they got to visit on this season. Again stating, GREAT travel this season!
It didnāt seem like the pizza chefs got to eat the pizza, but hopefully they could grab a slice on the way out!
I was glad for the NEL, although may have been more deserved in the double U turn leg! But I guess that would be two twists in the same leg. Always keep racing until Phil tells you you are eliminated.
Jonathan was very bratty again this episode
Visited many of the Strasbourg locations on our 2019 Rhine river cruise. Even went into that cheese shop!!
Was sorry to see the married guys go. Seemed so nice and supportive of each other. Jonathan definitely was not nice. At one point he said Ana had been great on the cheese challenge and later complained she did not do it fast enough. I can only imagine he is not happy about how he comes off this season. Especially if his kids are watching!! I know he posted about finding out he is on the spectrum and had a hard time with the unpredictable nature of the race. Ana also still supports him and calls out production for only showing negative interactions between them. Hopefully, he is much nicer IRL.
Future teams may want to note that apparently being a surfer can be helpful on a number of challenges. Poor lactose intolerant Holden with the cheese challenge. I bet climbing those tightly enclosed stairs afterward was not fun for the others visiting there - it was interesting they didnāt seem to have closed it off for the racers. I loved the stork nest build and also the clothes washing. TAR planners have done a great job this season.
WTH???
I am on a flight tomorrow and may miss the finale!
I texted my daughter last night that I thought she should apply for TAR as she could do all the things they had to do last night. She can drive a stick (although her husband struggles with it, he CAN do it just not as good as her), she could shoot an arrow, she probably would have picked up the wine barrel and carried it up the hill. The tile puzzle? Got it.
I really think sheād be good at it and her husband would do whatever she told him to. I think heās good at maps and heād definitely do the heavy lifting.
The hardest thing for her would be leaving her dogs for 3 weeks for filming.
Anxious to see if there are any consequences for the dropped tile. Jonathan was really awful to her last night.
Not finished watching the episode but came to say I adore the relationship between Jack & Carson, and the way theyāre approaching each challenge - Iād like to be their friend.
Ok, back to itā¦
Well, that was a disappointing beginning.
