I also thought it was odd that they started the episode mid race.
Episode just felt off. Not excited about the BB crossover and the all Europe itinerary. May not be watching this whole season.
I thought it was fine, with some interesting challenges. I thought they made it pretty obvious how long the flower challenge took, without the number of tries. It seemed like most of the teams did not have much trouble stacking the cheese (one side seemed to be flatter and stacked OK). The human bowling was funny. I think at times the producers under or over estimate how hard the challenges will be - especially before they get to know the cast.
Ugh, not reading the comments above yet. I realize I forgot to record the show and I canāt seem to find anywhere to watch the first episode - the one streaming I donāt have is Paramount plus!
you can watch on the cbs website
They did do the #attempt at the ice bowling task.
While the start was different than the usual official start I felt like it picked back up and took off as usual.
I donāt understand why these pairs arenāt any different than other pairs we donāt know at the start of a show. Sure, some of them know each other but also that usually only pertains to one half of the pair since the āpartnersā are largely family members we donāt know.
I thought the flower task was CRAZY awesome - and when the lights went off!
BTW, there are physical tasks in Big Brother too in addition to laying around the house.
But also so much of the tasks being physical on AR makes for a more even playing field of the teams - there are some more fit, some younger/older - that kind of thing.
Super pumped to see two of favorites Tucker and Rubina (on different teams but were a couple - I think they have split up now?) Tucker is probably my most fav BB contestant and his brother seems to be very kind (and also as good looking!)
I ended up having to pay to watch the episode on Amazon Prime! The CBS app kept erroring.
But the DVR is now set for the rest of the season.
RIP Tubina. Actually they were together longer than I guessed
Two really DYNAMIC personalities - can you imagine them together in a room or home?! ![]()
I really enjoyed this episode - but Iāve come to the conclusion that if itās a choice between remembering something or being careful with something Iāll choose being careful any day! And I could never do the high walk - ever. I chickened out on one of those (it was a telephone pole) with a team building experience at work. It didnāt matter how many safety harnesses were on me, I stood frozen and my legs were knocking! I ended up crying and backing out.
Agreed about the tasks. I would much rather haul something to a concrete place.
I donāt like heights AT ALL, but for some reason I think that I could do that task. I did wonder why no one held on to the ties above them. I think that that wouldāve been steadying. I wonder whether they werenāt allowed. Or sat down and scooted out.
If I could sit, Iād do that!
I donāt think I could walk on that narrow of a strip even if it were placed on the ground. Also the sitting down, leaning over and then getting back up. I was sort of hoping someone would step off so I could see the harness hold them. Funny how several noted the cemetery below.
Iāve noticed that some seem to be carrying heavier than usual packs. Iām thinking Lexi in particular was carrying a lot of clothes, makeup and hair product. Teams that do better seem to have small packs or even share one which it looks like Jas and Jag are doing.
The editing seemed better this week but I wondered why they kept focusing on that very subdued woman at the glass challenge.
Iāve noticed that, too, and assumed it was to lighten their loads and that the stronger player is in charge of the larger bag.
Maybe they take turns with the heavier/lighter backpack.
I still have about 20 minutes to go so I donāt know who was eliminated yet. (Ok if I get spoiled). I was just glad that Tucker and bro were able to correct and hopefully they will be more careful with clues next time - I somehow didnāt pick up on that they had sidestepped that task!
I could seriously barely watch the height task on my tv let alone even consider it OR watch someone else do it in person. Awful all the way. And having to sit down to get the clue? Kill me now.
ALSO, have we ever seen a team come to the pit stop with a snack in hand?! LOL, Tucker and brother and their ice cream cones. A little cocky perhaps but also SO Tucker and I thought that it was a cute sign of their relationship - getting an ice cream cones together, lol.
There are too many shows on Wednesday nights. I finally finished watching Amazing Race.
I thought the editing was much better this week. Maybe they spent more time trying to tell the back stories last week. I donāt watch BB and still donāt remember who in each duo is the BB player and who is the family member. I donāt remember who dated, or is dating, or who was on the same season. I assume that everyone knows each other at some level from BB events after their season.
Starting a leg 6 hours after the first team pretty much guarantees that Phil will meet you in a field.
Well, also if you have no real enthusiasm for, or apparently skill at, racing. (Even though you have much enthusiasm for hanging with your spouse.) And then thereās eternally optimistic but hopelessly clueless currently last place team.
Iām guessing there may be a catch up location on the next round. Also, didnāt the first couple of teams did have to wait for the hockey place to open so it wasnāt a full 6 hours.
Iām glad the editors seem to be back. āMy sister knows how to skate and has great balanceā - followed by multiple clips of sister falling down.
Awww, I loved the team that was eliminated - I was sure we were going to see a turnaround and that theyād end up winning overall. Theyāre my kind of people.
Who here watches Big Brother? Tell me about Jas & Jag. What is their backstory? They seem really savvy but also very kind.
