The Amazing Race - season 29

So glad that Mike and Liz are still in it! Yeah, he had a rough day, and took his frustration out on Liz . . . but give him a chance to rest and recover and I’m sure they’ll be okay again. At this point, he’s just exhausted, and no one is at their best in that condition.

And, FWIW, Mike said up front that he was NOT comfortable doing the challenge they chose. I get that Liz really wanted to do that one . . . but when your partner says, “Hey, that’s really not for me,” then maybe it’s time to listen.

LOVED that Becca and Floyd got to go skydiving - how cool was that!!! (And I’m sure that if Brooke and Scott had gotten the Fast Forward, she would have cried and complained the whole way!)

I was surprised how careless some of them were with the royal door task. Even after getting to one of the correct doors, they made no effort to identify what it was that made the doors unique. Poor racing.

Brooke may, indeed, be the most annoying contestant ever on TAR. Such an unpleasant person, I have to wonder why she ever applied to be on the show.

Loved the beautiful sites of Norway! Continue to love Becca and Floyd, as I have from the start. They are a joy to watch. How fortunate they, and we, are that they ended up as partners.

I’m not sure how the FF took so much time. I don’t recall it ever happening before that two teams come in before the FF team.

I’m assuming the FF took time to helicopter there, time to get them in gear, and time to instruct them on what to do during the jump and landing. They may also have been farther away from the pitstop than the other teams.

Yes, I understand that but how is it a FF if it takes so much time?

@alwaysamom I don’t think they are complaining – they had a blast parachuting and finished near the top!

I’d guess that sometimes things just take more or less time than the people planning out the race had expected (ex. the kayakers found the clues quickly, maybe there was wind or something that delayed the parachuting – who knows?) – I think planning out the race is more of an an art than a science and unexpected things can happen.

Many years ago one of the fast forward teams came in last because it took so long. It was two guys and I think they were in Thailand or another SE Asian country.

It’s happened 3 times, actually. The first, as referenced above, was Joe & Bill in season 1. However, they were not eliminated, because Nancy & Emily had to serve out a time penalty.

Dennis & Andrew were eliminated after their FF in Season 3, and Bopper & Mark were eliminated in Season 20.

@happy1 I know they’re not complaining.

@skieurope I don’t think I saw those first two seasons and I had forgotten about Mark and Bopper. If I recall correctly one, they were hours behind everyone else at the start of that leg, which clearly would have made a difference.

Anyway, not an issue, just surprising to me how it played out.

Correct.

Who could forget Bopper?

What I forgot was their experience with the FF, not them as racers.

(That was rhetorical —may be should have been: Who can forget Bopper!)

Finally finished both episodes. That was a haul!

Brooke is RIDICULOUS. My gosh she whines at everything! Any activity. The fish. EVERYTHING. Her partner is a saint.

Liz and bearded guy had a rough leg. I think she needs to share some of the blame. I was starting to wonder if they would ever have a non-elim.

The other couple that seems awful chumy is the team that came in first again - Joey and ???. I can’t remember who might be in a relationship and who is not. They just seem really sweet together.

Ahhhh, so fortunate for Brooke that it wasn’t me holding the other end of the rope when she started screeching on the side of that cliff! And to complain – to the person holding her! – that he wasn’t holding her? Just may not be the best time or place to voice that complaint . . .

With exceptions of course, the racers really seem to get along with the other teams this season. Maybe because they came in as individuals. Lake Como looks gorgeous. I am going to have to put that on my bucket list. I almost felt sorry for Ashton and Vanck. I had to keep reminding myself how mean Ashton was to Vanck.

Brooke sure is giving Flo a run for the title of most annoying contestant ever. I totally feel for her partner.

We couldn’t possibly get through a leg without a meltdown by Brooke. She must have other redeeming qualities for the other teams to put up with her, although it’s Scott who bears the brunt of her outbursts.

She must be edited to look that horrible or the other teams would have gotten rid of her.

I thought LoLo would be stronger than they seem to be.

I hope Becca and Floyd win it all. They are having so much fun.

I think the other teams keep Brooke around for two reasons–1) her teammate is likeable and would suffer the consequences of her annoying behavior if eliminated and 2) she is no threat as a competitor.

Another fun leg! And such beautiful scenery, Lake Como is one of my favorite places on earth. It’s even more spectacular in person.

Brooke again makes a fool of herself. Good grief. No amount of editing could make her look this bad. All that screeching at Scott all.the.time.

Yay for Becca and Floyd. Love them!
