SO glad Amani and Marcus didn’t get kicked off! Wow, they had a rough day, and it didn’t even seem to be from their own doing - just slow cabs, etc. Was anyone else screaming at the TV for them to RUN when Bill and Cathy had to go back to pay their cab? Such a close call! Also can’t believe the snowboarders won another trip and the brother/sister missed it by a hair! You would be so mad!

Bill and Cathy still amaze me - they really haul it out, and they always stay pretty upbeat (although I was totally expecting her to fall down again, ha ha). It seems like the blond girl (Sandy?) of the dating pair never seems to do much of anything to help her partner out - anyone else pick up on that? He seems to do all the tasks or pull most of the weight. And how sexist was it of Lawrence to be telling the women he thought they would be at the sewing task? WTH? He drives me nuts!

This episode was really good… Love the people of Malawi. : -)

It was interesting to me as well all the sexist comments that Lawrence was making, especially when his own daughter attempted to sail around the world alone. The son, Zac, was successful, but I believe the daughter tried but had some problems. So, given that a dad would support his daughter doing that, then make all those comments was strange to me…

I was really surprised to see another non-elim so soon - but happy since I like that couple. I too really enjoy Bill and Cathy and their “can do” attitude - she HAULED that bed! I hope they last awhile - seems the older couples never make it far - break the cycle Bill and Cathy!!!

I was really glad it was non-elimination. How unfair to Marcus and Amani that they were first place the leg before but because there was only one flight there was no advantage. And then to have such bad luck. Bill and Cathy were very good last night. Had they not been at the back of the plane with Marcus and Amani they might have placed a lot higher.

I’m always suspicious that the producers make case-by-case decisions on whether a leg is going to be a non-elimination leg or not, depending on whether the last team to arrive is one that they want to keep around for whatever reason. I also think that shows like American Idol, X Factor, SYTYCD and DWTS decide who stays and who goes, regardless of what the actual audience vote was. Hey, it’s not like the Academy Awards where they have Price Waterhouse keeping tabs on the votes – we just have to take their word for it.

I didn’t used to be this skeptical, but after the way the producers handled Project Runway, nothing surprises me!

I had heard several weeks ago from a mutual friend that Ethan’s cancer had returned. It was probably why all the griping here about him being on TAR annoyed me so much but I obviously couldn’t say anything. It’s become public today. Very sad news and a challenging time, once again, for him and his loved ones.

This week’s episode looked so hard! About Ethan’s cancer returning - that sucks so much. Especially since they already lived through that ordeal once and now have to face it again. I read somewhere that he started running again while they were at the Elimination Station - since they got kicked off so early, they had a LOT of time to spend there, and he said there was nothing else to do! I forget where the Elimination Station was located for this group, but it must have been in a really boring area.

I thought it was kind of mean that the snowboarders didn’t let Ernie and Cindy win. Mind you, I totally would have taken Ernie and Cindy DOWN if I could have, but the snowboarders have won so many times already! You could tell Cindy had absolutely had it.

Bill and Cathy continue to amaze me. They never fight and are always so unfazed by things and stay so happy! I need to drink whatever they’re drinking. Go Bill and Cathy! ; -)

Another WTH moment - why in the world did Lawrence and Zac U-turn somebody? All the teams behind them were pretty far behind (Justin and Jennifer weren’t even there yet). I was SO glad Marcus and Amani had already hightailed it out of there because that would have been awful! Just once I would like to see Zac flip out on his dad! LOL.

I thought Jennifer was so clueless to waste all that time on the bike task! If you knew you left the clue with your brother, why wouldn’t you just cycle back anyway? That seemed crazy. I wasn’t too sad to see them go…

Thought Sandy’s comment about never being able to have kids after riding the bike was hilarious… Ouch!

I think at this point I’m pulling for Marcus and Amani or Bill and Cathy. Can’t wait for next week!

I wonder how many other people caught Sandy’s remark about not having kids. I can totally relate. We took a long bike ride in China and the first thing I said when I got off was that I was glad we had had all of our kids because I didn’t think it was a possibility anymore!

I no longer like Lawrence and also wish Zac would tell his Dad where to go.

My top two couple are Bill and Cathy and the snowboarders.

I too thought at first that the snowboarders should have been gracious to Ernie and Cindy - then again, Ernie and Cindy did nothing to earn that 1st, having used their express pass - that made the fact that the snowboarders came in first even MORE impressive! I am afraid it will bite them back later…

Bill and Cathy rock!

So happy as well for the football player team - and yes, Zac needs to u-turn Lawrence to ANYWHERE!!! :)

Were you guys impressed with Amani? I mean Marcus, yeah sure, he should be able to haul people off a ferry boat…but his wife? That is no diva!! She was hauling heavy stuff off that boat without really (at least we didn’t see it) complaining - at all. That was really great.

Zac’s dad should have been in the back of the canoe since he wanted to control it, and he’s heavier. That was stupid on his part.

Cindy drives me nuts with her whine-y voice. I’ll be glad when she’s out. Sandy too, what a whiner!

Amani and Marcus = pretty cool couple. Just seem like good down to earth people/parents. If they go down, they’ll go down working hard as they could.

Bill and Cathi and Marcus and Amani are both great examples of couples who work together.
I felt the snowboarders were a bit mean spirited in the end. Almost like the bully on the playground. Ernie and Cindy could have U turned them and would have won the leg if they had.

I’m not sure that the snowboarders should have allowed Ernie and Cindy to win the leg, I wish they had, but by the same token, Ernie and Cindy should have U-turned them. They knew how close they were and clearly the guys were going to beat them in a footrace. At least winning the leg would have made it worth using their Express Pass.

I’ve liked Amani and Marcus all along but I’m also now rooting for Bill and Cathi.

Sad to hear that Ethan’s cancer has returned.

I LOVE Amani and Marcus. I also am very impressed wtih Bill and Cathi. Probably the nice thing to do would have been for the snowboarders to let Ernie and Cathi win, but they did win $15K which is a lot of money. They definitely have the advantage. Poor Ernie was running carrying both backpacks. You would think Zac and his dad would have had better canoeing skills. They are sailors and don’t you sometimes have to row out to the boat?

From the perspective of the prize, I get how it could have been nice for the boys to give Ernie and Cindy the win - but, again, the boys did the HARD task and STILL managed to place first or tied for first - that’s pretty awesome performing!

The snowboarders keep winning because they play the game better. They’ve been plenty generous in the past. If Ernie and Cindy wanted to win that bad, they should have U-turned them. Her voice is too grating for me to feel too sorry for her.

Consensus reached: Amani and Marcus and Bill and Cathi!

I’m sure Ernie and Cindy never would have guessed that they would have been fighting for first when they used their express pass - it must have taken them FOREVER to find the pit stop!

I wonder if anyone else in the race could have done the task that Marcus did…carry 8 people to shore? that is a superhuman couple and I’m pulling for them all the way!

On a side note, Ethan ran the NYC Marathon yesterday, finished in just over 4 hrs.
