The military is awfully boring. I never got to move anywhere, I don’t have any interesting stories.

5 versions? I started one. And it kind of sucks. I’m not even sure where it’s going. It does make me sound like a douchey eight year old, that much is certain. Maybe I’ll write about how I never have any interesting stories.

I meant more the culture surrounding it. Didn’t you say it was completely different than the areas nearby?

And everyone has interesting stories.

Just in that there are no southern accents. But it varies.

Maybe I’ll write about how I could never get attached to friends in elementary school because they always left. But that’s kind of depressing. I need a positive spin.

You could say that it fostered your creativity and independence. Idk, the essay topic thing is a *****.

Any childhood anecdotes that inform your character and are cute?

Um. I got braces in second grade. Cute story, nothing about my character. I could just make up some stuff. idk.

I don’t remember that much else about my childhood. Hmm. I did use the wrong pencil number type on a standardized test in 1st grade. There’s got to be something there.

I included the depressing things in my essays from a detached perspective, if that makes sense. For instance, rather than saying “I never got attached to my elementary school friends because they always left,” you could give repeating accounts of the last times you saw them. But even then, that should be just a small part of the essay.

That pencil thing is awesome. Use that.

You could also use your essays to have fantasies. You start with something that makes sense, and by the time you’re done describing it, it turns into a big fantasy. Sort of like a daydream.

Ooh, another idea. You can pretend to be the beached whale on the “island” of the military base. Brilliant!

I just have no idea how to start the pencil thing. A dialogue?

I know someone who would write something like the bad example.

See, I could write about the depressing nature of my childhood, or I could write about a funny pencil story. BUT WHICH ONE

I wrote the funny pencil story. But now I need the heartwarming epiphany that goes in the middle. I’m stuck.

For tomorrow. Or later. I’ll finish this eventually.

Haha. The bad example looks like some of my BS English essays.

Snoop, BOTH.

I went for stream of consciousness on my essays, and that worked well for me. I think it would work for you too, judging from your posts…

I don’t want to make it both. I could, but it would be too long and unfunny.

Something about the simplicity of solutions. Or idk. I’m thinking too hard.

I swear to god, if I see one more photo album labeled “i love college :]]] lol” I will throw my computer out the window.

Just wait until you get all the “sen10rs” albums that you will inevitably see in May.

I think it’s hilarious that my mom just lectured me on judging other people. “You have never said one nice thing about anyone. Your life is so miserable.”

The irony.

I’ve seen at least three sen10r albums all ready.

Lewis Carroll, what a clever guy. Or Charles Dodgson, whichever.

The sen10r albums are already in existence, duh.

Ughhh, Chicago is making it nearly impossible to have a 18+ club shows anymore, it’s so annoying. I should invest in a fake.

To crack down on underage drinking, supposedly.

I should’ve guessed. I’ve never been to any show though, because of that whole sucky music thing.

I SO wanted to see the Jonas Brothers when they went to Nashville. Now figure out if I’m serious.
