The Cafe Watering Hole: PART DEUX

Yes I did. Am I supposed to like her because of our matching Southern belle-ness? Because she’s from Pennsylvania. So.

I LIKE HER ANYWAY.

So I got matched up with an alumna for my Scripps interview, but she hasn’t emailed me yet, so I’m supposed to email her. But I don’t know what to put. Help?

Maybe I’m overthinking this, but help me anyway. Induge my CCness.

dudette, y dont u email me? theres sumpn wrong wit u. git on it!!!1

That should do.

I’m going to own my Marx paper. I am.

THAT IS NOT HELPFUL.

Are you going to write about Obama in your Marx paper? Since they’re so interchangeable and all lololol. I’m going to write my movie.

Also, someone in my AP Lit class didn’t get into UTK. So. Think on that, cosmopolitan elitists. That class is the most interesting I’ve ever had, and I’ve learned more on writing analytical essays in the past two months than I’ve learned in my entire 13 years in the public school system, but those are still my peers. My poor English teacher, she went to Vandy and now she teaches here.

Oh yeah, college. I should probably fill out some applications.

PS - I got some Tina Fey glasses. And this post is really long.

PPS - I just made this post longer.

A month ago, I applied for this: [Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation - Welcome!](http://www.loranaward.ca/). I didn’t think I would get very far, but today I got an email stating that I have been selected as a semi-finalist. I have my interview(s? they were kind of vague) in three weeks and a few hours.

I AM SO HAPPY AND RELIEVED.

Congratulations! But why did you doubt yourself? Of course you would’ve gotten it; you’re the entirety of Canada.

I have about five lit crit articles to read on Hamlet. But I think I’ll write my movie instead. Decisions, decisions.

Lit crit is always fun.

I am glad that I finally have something to look forward to that will happen before December 15. Silly Yale.

My reading list for my Lit class is horrible. Hawthorne, Thoreau, Hardy, Dickinson. Horrible, horrible.

That does suck. Next we read Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, then over Christmas break we’re supposed to read something Romantic, and my teacher picked Wuthering Heights, but I’m holding out for something, anything but that. The other choices are Tess of the d’Urbervilles and Pride and Prejudice, not exactly the best.

I want to have all my applications out by December 15, but that isn’t going to happen.

Wuthering Heights is one of my favorite novels of all time don’t disssss.

^ Oh. Well. It sucks. :)

DAYUM: [Yale Daily News - Early apps drop 5 percent](http://www.yaledailynews.com/news/university-news/2009/11/16/early-apps-drop-5-percent/)

Good for you? And you can’t diss Jolie like that; when someone wants to be a southern belle, you can’t just get all up in their grill like that without some repercussions.

I have a lot of things to do. Maybe I’ll do them later.

Also, inspiration. Or maybe that’s just me. This too.

Something is wrong with me.

Moreover, I feel like a crappy person because Vandy comes to my school every year to talk to some people about scholarships, and my counselor said they might want to talk to me, but I have absolutely no desire to go to Vandy even though I’m applying, because I don’t want to go to college 45 minutes away from my house.

Sufjan Stevens is lots of fun.

Yale has started to harass students whose applications are missing something (teacher recs, test scores, etc.) and I haven’t been contacted. Which means that all is in order.

IT IS SCARY TO THINK THAT MY APPLICATION COULD POSSIBLY ALREADY HAVE BEEN READ, AND AN ADMISSIONS DECISION MIGHT ALREADY HAVE BEEN MADE. Crazy.

Schmuffjan.

I’m studying for a bio test tomorrow that I couldn’t care less about, The Office is on in 30 minutes, and I’m going to triply ironically see New Moon in the next week or so. Exciting life.

I hate bio. Mostly because it is the worst thing in the entire world.

I listened to No Surprise by Daughtry when I submitted my app, and now whenever I hear it I remember how nervous and strange I felt at the time. I don’t know if that’s bad or good.

In other news, ■■■.

I wrote a script today. But I didn’t do my homework.

Priorities.

Oh, I’m going to be in the movie too. So.

Got that multi-hyphenate.

2200 on my SAT whaaaat

CONGRATS!

That’s great. What are your subscores?

Critical Reading 730
Math 740
Writing 730

No school till Monday, silly Canadian. It’s real Thanksgiving on Thursday.
