The Cafe Watering Hole: PART DEUX

My SAT should be easy. I like history. I know history. Chemistry, Latin, and Calculus I do not.

There is no calculus anywhere in Math II. You’ll be fine.

My friend at school told me that he placed into precalc at Miami University for the fall. This is a friend from my calculus class. I think that’s rather sad, but he seems fine with it.

Those are my other AP tests, Ohioan.

I did well in precal, at least.

I generally like most things I learn about in school. The classes, less so, but the actual material is usually good.

Except biology.

Biology is the one class that doesn’t interest me in the least. And next year I will have two biology classes at the same time because the IB sucks.

I’ll also have two calculus classes. So. Sucks.

UChicago’s curriculum is, in my opinion, about as close as any university comes to an IB-like curriculum. So the jury’s still out on that. I might like it. It depends on how nasty my science courses are. I’m hoping I can get out of lab sciences and just do the theory-based ones.

Should I self-study some calc over the summer? I’m thinking I should. I should try a Barron’s book.

Barron’s is much harder than any test is pretends to prepare you for.

I guarantee you it won’t over-prepare me for UChicago’s placement test. It covers everything from precalc up through “Honors Analysis,” whatever that’s supposed to be. And I’m not going to waste my time with one of those huge Princeton Review books that give a bunch of random Joe Bloggs analogies to explain things. If I use a review book, it’s going to be Barron’s.

I think I also want to study some advanced Spanish grammar. My Spanish curriculum at school never really covered all the fussy stuff.

I study at school moreso than home.

You know what, boys? I don’t think a women’s college is the best choice for me.

Haha. Hahahahah. Hahahahahaa. Ha. I told you so.

Only because I was looking through my phone and thought about it. Still like Scripps. Still might apply.

My future industry is saturated with the patriarchy, so I can always just make up for it there.

I don’t really even know what my future industry is. My high school education hasn’t given me a very good idea of the real world.

Real world lol. That’s exactly what I’m escaping.

Triple ot win baby!!! **** the celtics!!!

I just took two practice tests on sparknotes for my test tomorrow, and I got a 690 and 700. As long as I get above a 600, I’ll be happy.

brainexhausted

Sparknotes tests are more difficult than they should be. So. You’ll probably get higher than 750.

Are they? That’s a relief. I reviewed all the sections in my Princeton Review apush book and the threads say that should be enough. I don’t feel like doing another practice test.

yak, are you going to get a 2400?

Icky. I have a literary criticism to write this week. It’s short, but that’s more work than I wanted. Next week is full of parties. I have one Tuesday for calculus, Wednesday is the school-sponsored senior skip day, Thursday is newspaper during the school day and English in the evening, and Friday afternoon is NHS. So I won’t be in the mood to write a paper.

680 sparknotes = 780 real thing for me. And that was the day before.

Snoop, I know someone taking the exact same tests as you. Crazyness.

Crazyness.

I need senior pixie dust.

How long will the test be? Like an hour?

You are a character, jb.
