Prom tomorrow, exciting.

I have an SAT Subject Test in Latin tomorrow. I hope I don’t fail.

You could show off your Latin by writing an essay about phrases on coined money.

The more I look at those silly subject test threads, the more I lose faith in American high school education. I’m manning a chem thread and trying to help people but it is so silly.

Haha. I feel as though I complain about this way too much, so I won’t anymore. But I’ve written essays on this.

Complain about what?

The American education system, of course.

In an editorial for the newspaper, I referenced the fact that Canada is one of the international leaders in education. It was from a big study. Canada was in the top five, and the US was 19th or something. I think the Czech Republic scores better than we do.

I think I failed. Lucky to get 500. For real. idk. Should I cancel?

Don’t lost faith in me, Canadian.

One can only pray that that was on purpose.

Hmm. Was it more difficult than the practice questions you’ve seen? Because if so, it will have a more generous curve. I know that on the May SAT chem, there were a bunch of questions I wasn’t sure how to answer because they were based on knowledge of descriptive chem (ex. Bronze is an alloy of copper and what other metal?) that I just didn’t have, and I’m guessing it was the same way for many other test-takers. The curve was significantly more generous than I expected. So. If it was the same for Latin, don’t worry about it.

And, unless you’re seriously planning on applying to Princeton or Yale, I suggest you just wait to see your score, and then use score choice (this new thing that lets you choose which scores to report) next year. Most schools, except like Stanford, Princeton, and Yale (but not Harvard, for some ridiculous reason) accept score choice.

The people in the SAT chem threads don’t know that heating a graduated cylinder will cause it to break. Oh dear god.

Well now, I can’t tell you that.

I didn’t study, so yes, I believe I will cancel. Maybe. Probably. And I am seriously applying to Harvard and maybe Stanford. hahahah

I was referring to the horrible typo.

I know you were, Canada.

I printed out the cancel request form. I feel so Asian and perfectionist right now. HAH

Do you really think you did that bad? Were you at least able to finish the test?

My Collegeboard book tells me that you only need a raw score of around 66/74 to get an 800. Even if you get a score of 58/74, you’ll still get around a 740.

I really think I did that bad. I DIDN’T STUDY. Half right, maybe. Somewhere in the 500s, low 600s if I’m lucky.

I got into UChicago with a 600 in Literature. ENGLISH LITERATURE. Practically my best subject in high school. Though at my school, that didn’t mean much.

I’m talking about high school in the past tense. Haha.

[The Miniature Earth](http://www.miniature-earth.com/me_english.htm)

Horribly depressing.

I still think canceling would be the best thing to do. Thank you for validating me, though.

That is horribly depressing, Canada.

I know so many silly websites like that because of my ToK class. I’m being taught to be an “international learner” who does not live in a “small bubble” and who is “culturally aware” and “prepared” for the “global economy.”

I live in a small bubble and am culturally aware and prepared for the global economy.

Nearly.

I will one day attend a Bloomsday celebration in Dublin. I will.
