I just had an interesting conversation with my son, who is entirely too laid back for my purposes in this whole thing. I told him there was this great website to get lots of good info on the MT process. “Let me guess, College Confidential.” Clearly he knew about it. I said, “it’s really great, I wish I had known about it a year ago … but man, there are some really intense parents on there!” To which he replied, “Like you?” Ouch.
Yes, the shoe fits.
Thanks, @CaMom13 , for that info. I’ll pass along to D. She has been burning the candle at both ends to keep up with academics and the production she is in currently.
I have a total double-ended candle-burner @yellahamma but Senior year she done got burnt out.
Your D is already accepted to NYU so those multi-tasking ways paid off - just reassure her that the school won’t be looking for reasons to rescind her acceptance. The standard advice (and this goes for all academic acceptances, even Ivies) for grades after acceptance is “No Ds, No Fs, no felonies”.
I am laughing @CaMom13. I will be sure D gets that message!
Congrats to those who received acceptances! And to those ‘still in the running’! S received his no thank you from Otterbein today, then as we were discussing it a little while later, he got a yes from Viterbo.
As we wrapped up our conversation he says…This is a great day! The resilience these kids have is amazing!
Thank you to all who posted about Wright State. We are still planning on going and will ask questions. Looking forward to seeing their production of If/Then. Then going to BW for his last college audition. Can’t believe this part is almost over!
@lithpool Congratulations to your son!! A great day indeed. And yes, these kids are resilient, and they do things I would have never dreamed of doing at that age. Or now …
@lithpool Congrats to your son on his Viterbo yes! Feel free to reach out with any questions if need be!
Congrats @lithpool on Viterbo! D did an on campus audition at BW and caught the show this past fall. What a fantastic program. BAL!!
Thank you!
Yes we are excited to see If/Then w Wright and then Once w BW! Looking forward to seeing great talent after long drives!!
@CanadianMTgirl
Sent you a pm with some Canadian questions
S received a “Yes” today via email from CCM. He auditioned the first day of Chicago Unifieds.
@lithpool congratulations!!! ??. These kids are so resilient!!
@peacemama congrats!!! ??
@lithpool congrats on Viterbo. Let me know if you decide to go there ultimately (April decisions). It is top 3 on our list right now.
@2019wolves I’m so so sorry - just reading this is triggering my PTSD. My d fell in love with the perfect school for her in an on campus audition where they had her dance more than anyone and called her back to sing again. She was in heaven and pictured herself there for 5 MONTHS! They notified everyone in mid march and that NO destroyed her. I always warn people to try not to fall in love with a school - it actually made me wish we had done all auditions at Unifieds. I can tell you she is at a school that she is happy with, but we do not say the name of that school out loud in our house. It still breaks all our hearts, even her dad who doesn’t get wrapped up in all this stuff.
Congratulations to all of today’s yesses!
Good luck and best wishes to all awaiting answers. This time last year, we were wrapping up our last auditions! Stay positive! It is a very stressful experience!
Congrats @peacemama to your S! Great news!
Congrats on Viterbo @lithpool ! Your S has done so well, you must be thrilled.
Ball State has many actors that take voice and some that even dance. All MT, acting, and dance majors can audition for all musicals, plays, and dance shows.
I am guessing there are opportunities for actors that can sing because a lot of the new shows don’t have dancing.
