@MTMom2019 - that’s just awful. As fun as those calls sound to get I am glad my D never applied to any programs that call the accepted students because the call that doesn’t come is torture. @mtmom1967 - pulling for your D too!!! What programs are you all waiting on? Hopefully not all the “OMG” difficulty schools?
@MTMom2019 Be encouraged… a YES is coming soon!!!
@CaMom13 We are still waiting for 12 audition schools and also both of her “safety” schools to announce academic acceptance. Have had 3 no’s and 1 BFA acting acceptance. Still waiting for that first MT YES.
@mtmama42 Yay for the BFA Acting! If you’ve got 12 still to hear from, that’s great. I look forward to reading that the first BFA MT yes came through for her. Hang in there and stay cool. This process drags out.
@CaMom13 Thank you… It’s SO hard waiting, knowing that several of her schools have been calling accepted students and have also announced some rejections and deferrals. I keep reminding myself that “No news is good news” but it’s not helping much - haha.
Just realized that we are waiting on 12 also @MTmama42! Ugh! And this is my second time around with this—had another child in the process three years ago. Still nerve wracking!
@MTmama42 Thank you! Had disappointing prescreen round, 3 no’s and waiting on ten. Each no makes it harder to believe a yes is coming but trying to remain optimistic. Thank goodness my daughter is handling this way better than I am.
@MTmom2019 It was so hard watching those No prescreen results. D only passed 2 of her prescreens. But, we realized that she is just much better in person than on video. So far, 3 Yes from Unifieds out of 4 responses and waiting…waiting…waiting for the rest of the schools (not even sure how many). Hearing calls made, redirects, and rejection emails from schools we are waiting to hear from is tough. But, it is still early. Can’t wait to celebrate your Ds first Yes!
@mtmom3girls Congratulations on the 3 yeses and thank you for your kind words <3 I’ll keep you posted…
So does anyone else sing the chorus to Tom Petty’s “The Waiting” at least once a day? I almost have to in order to find some comic relief when the mailbox is empty day after day (well, other than a bill or two).
I understand that the phone call “yes” is so very exciting for accepted students, but it is extra heartbreaking for those who don’t get a call. They often call after school, when kids are in rehearsal, so it’s a very public disappointment when friends get a call while you’re in the room…and you don’t. Someone mentioned that 2/28 - today - was the UM call day last year - that was a tough one for us. The call might be 3/1 this year…or 3/8.
The FSU calls did go out yesterday. But look at it this way. They only make 16 offers with the hope to get 8 students and 2 or 3 of those were already in place from their summer intensive. So the odds were always pretty low. So 13 offers from what, 1000 applicants? That is the nature of our quest
@Mark80 No I sing the one from SHREK…The Waiting, THE WAITING
Got my first rejection in the mail today - endlessly thankful to already have options but it still stings:( hoping everyone gets good news soon!

We did make calls yesterday. We will not be calling anyone else today, but there is an alternate list. The alternates will receive a letter which I expect to arrive in mailboxes next week.
To be clear about the numbers (although I know it doesn’t help psychologically) we had 252 candidates pass the prescreen. We made 18 offers, NOT including the 2 students who accepted offers from the summer intensive. The total number of students accepted this year is 20. The students auditioning did exactly what we asked of them; they made it hard for us to make decisions. I always end audition season awed by them.

YAY! S was accepted to Oh Northern! Hooray! (It came at a perfect time…needed a morale boost)
On another note…so I’m having some Dove chocolate, and after a couple pieces I decided to read the note on the wrapper, which said, “Don’t look at the clock”. :))
Really??? As we are all in this waiting game, HA! Just thought I’d share the chuckle…
@MTbound and @Mark80 - eventually my go-to song became Doris Day’s “Que Sera Sera”…
…whatever will be, will be… the future’s not ours to see… que sera, sera. What will be, will be.
I literally watched the film clip of Doris singing that several times a day, it kept me sane.
@All4FSU Thanks, Michele, for your insight into FSU’s process. It’s so helpful to hear directly from the source.
Congrats to those that are hearing and getting happy news!! This is a nerve wracking time! I’m getting heart palpitations everytine I open up CC to see what’s happening!!
