Shenandoah told us the decisions would be made mid-March so I’m afraid we all have some waiting to do there.
@NoMTinMD and @MTmama42 Ball State calls went out on Monday. I hope this helps because the wait is so brutal for all of us. No idea about emails or snail mail…fingers crossed for everyone’s kids!
@Divamamacita Do you know anything about how integrated the acting and MT majors are at BSU? Things like: can acting BFA majors take voice lessons or dance classes and is there frequent cross casting between departments for plays and musicals.
@KAT67 Did all of the acceptance calls go out? I have heard of several people receiving rejections and redirects via email, but we haven’t heard a peep. Are they sending them out over several days?
Thanks @KAT67. I guess that means if you didn’t get a redirect/rejection, and you didn’t get a call, then you are in limbo. It would be nice to know if even on a waitlist.
@vvnstar is correct … my D didn’t audition at Nebraska Wesleyan til mid March. She’ll be graduating w/ a BFA in MT in about two months … time flies!
It’s really a gem of a school that does an INSANE amount of productions per year. My girl has loved her time there - it was and is the perfect fit for her. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out via private message. I originally discovered Nebraska Wesleyan through this board 4 years ago - and I’m happy to pay it forward.
@Divamamacita - Thank you for the clarification. Let this sink in a bit and I will certainly PM you.
@KaMaMom - I just looked at their website, and It looks like quite the hidden gem! I will talk to DS this weekend about adding more schools to his list and see where his head is at. Thank you!
@MTmama42 Were there people that got out right rejections from BSU? I was under the impression that everyone got the redirect.
@newtothis Good question. Someone said they got rejected, but maybe they meant from MT specifically. Didn’t mention a redirect to another pathway.
@MTmama42 and @NoMTinMD I have no idea exactly what happened, but from reading between the lines I think acceptances went out by phone, emails for redirects and no’s.and I bet if you haven’t heard you are still being considered, maybe wait-listed? I bet you could call the school to ask.
@NewToThis13 we have a friend who received a no.
@KAT67 Thanks for the info! But boy does that stink.
@KAT67 Thank you. I just read the BSU thread from last year and it looks like wait list calls went out a MONTH after the first calls went out. Lot’s of people in limbo for a long time. But the good news is that people were accepted through March and into April after being put on waitlist
So I’m not really expecting anything definitive for everyone this week or next
But I imagine calls and emails will continue to roll out… So we wait…
S was accepted academically in January waiting on MT offer
@KAT67 - Nothing from Shenandoah either, but did get an email saying his FAFSA had received by Shenandoah yesterday - we had done the paperwork a couple of months ago.
Word from the kids’ Facebook group, is somebody’s uncles friend’s secret mole told their neighbours kid’s grandmother that Michigan may start calling tonight.
@32barMom - Us too- thought it was weird. We had done and sent the FASFA back in Oct or Nov
@CanaDad So funny! Thanks, I needed that laugh.
??? Thanks @CanaDad. I so need to laugh right now and/or eat another box of Girl Scout cookies!
One of the IT guys at Emerson told me that the government shutdown caused all kinds of delays in them receiving the FAFSAs.
Wow! S just got an email about a portal update at Marymount Manhattan, and he’s been accepted off the waitlist! We weren’t expecting to hear anything more from them until after May 1, so this was a much-needed and welcome surprise!
