Re: Hartt. My S has been accepted to the MT BFA and he received the same email today.
My kid has been informed of Hartt acceptance but has not received anything official yet and got that email.
My D received the same Hartt financial aid email, but have received no notification of acceptance academically or artistically yet and her portal does not show any activity.
@MTmom2017 I’m so glad she’s happy where she landed! We are going through this right now. The only school that really fits into both “Prestigious” & “Affordable” categories would be Texas State. Unless you would happen to live in the state where you attend! Am I missing any?
@MamaMiaMyMy really? Have you heard of any other Hartt acceptances?
Got the same Hartt financial aid email but haven’t seen any acceptances academically or artistically either.
Congrats to everyone receiving acceptances today! And for those still waiting, ugh…hang in there…this crazy and exasperating ride will end eventually, I promise! Until then, keep your hands, arms, legs and SANITY inside the ride at all times! (Hartt MT Freshman parent here is anyone has questions…)
Re: Hartt, with as many of us as are getting “the email” today I think I’ll sit tight and not get too overly excited. Although I will definitely hope that it’s “acceptances for everyone” coming your way.
Phew!! D received a yes from Molloy/CAP21. Boy does this first “yes” feel great!!
Congratulations @2019wolves!!
@2019wolves SO EXCITING! Congrats
Way to go, @2019wolves !
Congrats on all the Molloy/Cap21 acceptances. Excited for everyone although don’t judge me too harshly if part of me hopes some of you eventually decide on elsewhere so my D can get off the waitlist
We also got the UHart financial aid email so I don’t think it’s tied to acceptance…but it would be nice if it was!
Does anyone know if college MT departments typically shut down all the way during spring break, for the ones that are actively making phone calls and notifications. Does everything pretty much go on hold? Several of my D’s schools have spring break next week.
@4angels - yes, my son has seen a few other Hartt acceptances on a Facebook group for MT kiddos
@MTmama42 - During our audition cycle, the schools D applied to did “shut down” during spring break. So had to wait till after for some responses.
@4angels Montclair State offers in-state tuition for students with a 3.5 GPA making it much more affordable.
@MThopeful99 and anyone else interested - This year’s Molloy/CAP21 class is 34 students. They don’t break the class into “cohorts” as in - here are the 17 kids you’re with all the time. However, they do break the classes down to smaller sizes, and I think to some degree customize the program (IE: levels taught) for the class depending on the experience levels. They leveled dance into beginning and advanced after placements in the fall. Class piano was similarly leveled as was sight singing. Some of my son’s classes have been as small as 6 students (Vocal Tech - if I remember right) Some of them have been around 10-11 students and some have been around 17. Any questions, feel free to message me.
@MTSongbirdMom , I think the FA email from Hartt is just tied to academic acceptance. We got it too but cancelled our audition back in December
@NYKaren I figured. But they had told us that academic acceptance was tied to artistic at one point so the second she got it it briefly raised an eyebrow lol.
