@Tnkdd my d also auditioned for Webster in Chicago. Nothing. Should be coming snail mail soon is what I’ve heard.
@kirbee16 - wondering why your S will pass on W/L? Better Options? Only curious as we are W/L too and will probably hang on till the end!
@32barMom he won’t see that because it’s an “l” in his name instead of an “i” - but in looking back it looks like his S already has some great acceptances.
@HancoK01MT and @16or32bars - I know how you feel, I was in your shoes last year and it is REALLY hard not to be both panicked and sad. Are the remaining two schools programs he loves? Don’t give up, they may come through! Do you have a good “plan B”?
@CaMom13 - Thank you! He would love one of the schools (Roosevelt). The other he hasn’t auditioned for yet - that audition is 3/23. We have a plan B although haven’t talked about it in detail. He could either pursue the BA at Coastal or take a gap year - take more voice and dance - and try again next year. I figure once we have all the determinations from the schools, we’ll lay it all out and see what path makes the most sense. It’s just hard for this not to be a real blow to his confidence.
@32barMom The waitlist is for Voice and he auditioned for Music Theatre. It’s not the waitlist in itself - just that it’s a different program than he wanted.
I will be honest with you @HancoK01MT - several moms from the class of 2022 have said their kids are STILL getting over the confidence lost during this process, and they are all in good programs. This is a concrete pie in the face for young performers. It’s horrible and I feel for you. Just have faith and look for options - if he doesn’t want a gap year there are good programs that will still have spaces. If he wants to consider a gap year, it has paid off for many applicants. Stay open-minded and I will keep pulling for good news from Roosevelt!!!
I keep seeing a lot of discussion on here about CMU releasing decisions already but their website says they won’t release until between March 15th & April 15th. Did something change and they are releasing early?
Has anyone heard a yes from BW? Also, has anyone not received anything from BW, a friend of my D is still waiting…hasn’t received any email at all.
@morgan830 Thanks for checking in about Webster. We are still waiting on 3 schools (Webster being one) and I am hoping we will get decisions soon so we can forge ahead!
@minicp We have not heard anything either re: BW
@BrennaK thank you! She’s glad to know she’s not the only one
@Boilermom I heard CMU accepted calls are going out today
Best of luck to everyone!! Our child ducked out early accepting ED (theater) at Northwestern. Felt it was the best blend of both theater and academics. I have to say it’s been nice to be out of the grind and relax. This site has been a wealth of info over the past year or more. Wishing you all the best!!
@klrbee16 My D auditioned for voice and would have killed for a waitlist lol. But she was rejected from both programs. She didn’t expect anything from the MT, but was really, really hoping for voice. Hope your S finds the right fit for him!
@minicp @BrennaK tell them to check their Spam account for the email - a couple kids on the Facebook page said theirs went to spam
A no from BW here too…
@MTSongbirdMom Aww…this is all so hard. I hope your D finds her fit, too. I apologize if I sounded insensitive - that was not my intent at all!
@MTSongbirdMom - Our waitlist is for Music Theatre with Voice Primary - is that MT or Voice? I am confused?
@HancoK01MT - hoping for good news from Roosevelt and for the last audition! If you do start the gap year discussion, there is a ton of information on CC about taking a gap year, and if you haven’t been around for long, there are a number of people on here who took a gap year and had great results the next year. @MThopeful99 this year and @owensfolks last year immediately come to mind. There are numerous others. There are also threads devoted to taking a gap year. Best of luck to your S. This process is brutal.
