Any information on UARTS vs. Marymount Manhattan College? Anyone love it at either one, would love some incite on daily student life. Has anyone heard an answer from Syracuse? Has anyone gotten a “no” or “waitlist” from Pace? Wondering when the final word will come from these two schools.

@NYKaren We had all of our questions answered from the schools and program directors. I was just looking for some independent information or maybe some student feedback
@“collegehelp!” Syracuse usually releases after 4:00 on Fridays so today could be the day.
I do know of at least one early decision MT boy that already received an offer.
I find this thread so very exciting on Friday afternoons in March! Just settling in for what I hope is a Friday “happy hour” on here! Hoping and praying that some great great news rolls in for those expecting it today! ?
Roosevelt waitlist email an hour ago…
@Debolution Our child got an acceptance for Wright State BFA acting. I don’t think there was specific rejection for MT in the letter (snail mail) but we assumed that we did not get MT because we auditioned only one time. Maybe there is another potential acceptance/rejection coming.
Also got a Roosevelt waitlist. So of course my next question is who can tell me anything about their experience with the Roosevelt waitlist. 
We should have made up some sort CC MT bingo board. Or maybe a drinking game. Got a redirect without a specific no for the MT BFA? Drink!
If Emerson updated portals yesterday and my kid’s portal hasn’t changed… would that mean wait listed or would that be reflected on the portal?? Anyone know?
@rbg2019 I believe waitlist would be reflected. I know some who called Emerson and were told they were missing something so decision was withheld. I would call to verify they have everything.

@rbg2019 Did you look at the top left of the portal? I almost missed it. Says there is an update, then you have to click on the link to get the letter. My D got a letter clearly stating a waitlist. You may need to reach out to admissions!
@16or32bars Wright State accepts for either MT or Acting. Unless it changed this year, the student checks on their audition form whether they want to be considered for just one or for both. Congratulations on the acceptance! There is a lot of crossover between MT and Acting.
For anyone interested and looking for more options, Kean University in New Jersey has one more audition 4/3/19 for their BFA Theatre Performance. If you live far away, you can also submit digitally.
Did anyone else apply to East Carolina (ECU)? My D was just accepted and they require a “yes” response by the 20th (five days!) or they will give her spot to someone else. She won’t even have visited one of her other options until the 25th. My first thought was to reach out and explain that we have another school to visit, but the letter says, “It is likely you have auditioned for other colleges and universities. Our hope is if ECU feels right for you, then results from other college/university auditions won’t influence or delay your decision to accept.” Has anyone heard of other schools doing this?

@collegehelp! MyD got an acceptance for Syracuse MT at end of February. She is an international student so possible got early notification because there is a lot of time sensitive immigration and financial documentation that has to be prepared on both ends. I don’t know that for sure but just my thought of why she heard so early
Wow. That doesn’t sound fair. I’m sorry you’re in this position. I have an older daughter that went through these auditions 3 years ago and ended up at BoCo, and a younger one that will be auditioning next year. My older daughter got 9 acceptances… NONE were like this. Is ECU your daughter’s dream school? Is it higher on her list than her other accepted schools? Are you still waiting for other decisions? Are they asking for money or a verbal commitment? If it’s just a verbal and she thinks she would be happy there then she has nothing to lose if she says yes now and then changes her mind after accepting on the 20th. She can just call them and tell them that she has had second thoughts. It happens…probably a lot. They typically have until May 1 to offer to their waitlist. My daughter got an offer from University of Miami out of the blue on April 30th! Ive heard of kids coming off the waitlist later… like in July, and then changing schools. Ultimately it’s really important that your daughter find her happy place. BoCo wasn’t my daughters first choice and as AMAZING as it is (and it is amazing) it was very tough for my daughter for a long time because she felt so defeated that she didn’t get into a school that she felt like was home. Help your daughter find her happy place. That’s what’s truly important.

So, we got a (good) wrench in our works today. D was admitted to Sarah Lawrence. We know they have a lot of actors as alums. Any thoughts about creating a musical theatre major there? I was hoping my CC hive mind might have some ideas.
Was your daughter eventually happy at BoCo ?
And any red flags at that school ? @SingerDancerMom
