The Goals Fund Scholarship: How Would You Spend $1,000 Toward Your Education & Future Goals?

If I were awarded $1,000, I would use it to help cover the cost of college application fees, standardized test prep, and tuition deposits. As a first-generation college student, every dollar counts, and this scholarship would ease the financial burden on my family. I plan to major in biology on a pre-med track, with the long-term goal of becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon. This career path requires years of education, and I want to start off strong by focusing on academics instead of financial stress. Investing this scholarship in my future would bring me one step closer to making healthcare more accessible in communities like mine.

If I won the $1000 scholarship, I would put it towards my college tuition when I go to Texas A&M University.

If I won the $1000 I would use it to help get into dentistry school which has always been my dream

I would use this scholarship to pay for my 5-6 year college journey to become a history professor (once I graduate HS of course.) This means I can hopefully worry a little less about college loans and debt in the future.

I would use the $1,000 to help pay for my dream of becoming a pediatric dentist in order to provide others the opportunities and care my parents didn’t receive.

I could be a teacher and shape the lives of children, the people I find the most joy in. I could be a chef, honoring my diverse cultural background through specially crafted dishes. I could be a financial advisor, using my affinity with numbers and organization to help families plan their futures. I could be an author, and bring to life the worlds and characters that are spilling out of my imagination. I could be a chemist, wielding my passion for chemistry to test and react and experiment. I could be a lawyer, a social worker, a librarian, a zookeeper, a sourcing director. There are so many things I could be, so many things I am passionate and interested in, but right now I am most eager to be a college graduate.

I might not know exactly what I want to do in college, but I know that I am inspired and motivated and eager. I know that whatever I do will be impactful and meaningful. Most importantly, I know that a college degree, one that I can afford, would help me pursue my goal of leaving a lasting impact on my community. If I were awarded the $1,000, I would allocate it towards my college education, because that is what will enable me to transform my “I could’s” into “I am’s”.

I would use it towards my college tuition expenses because my family is struggling financially currently.

I would use $1000 to cover essential but often overlooked college expenses like textbooks, lab fees, transportation, and/or campus health clinic costs. These hidden costs add up quickly and are rarely covered by financial aid, but heavily impact students like me. Receiving this support would relieve some of the pressure on my family and allow me to focus on my education. This $1,000 will bring me a step closer to achieving my dream of completing college and attending medical school.

If I were to be honored with this scholarship, I would use the money to help take off some of the financial stress of college so that I could better focus on my studies and getting my degree! This money would help me in accomplishing my dream of getting a degree in organismal biology.

If I were awarded the $1000, I would use it to help cover the cost of college for either the application fees or even the actual tuition fees. I have just recently, as of last year, moved to the US and we havent completely settled in. My family, as Asians, obviously are working hard to be able to pay for my college tuition fees but I want to remove this burden from my parents’ back by applying to scholarships and winning at least some amount of money to be able to help them. I plan to major in Computer Science and generally AI and IT. I want to start strong with complete focus on my major and tyr having a lesser financial stress. I plan to do some part-time jobs but it might not be as efficient and quick to try and take off the loan payment dues and stuff. This scholarship will help me a lot in my future as it would make it easier for me to complete my degree in Comp Sci successfully and probably even help the world.

I would use the money from this scholarship to help pay for college. My family does not have enough money to provide my education in a 4 year college where I would be looking to get into their nursing program.

If I win this $1,000 scholarship, I would use the money to assist with purchasing books and study materials.

I would use the $1k to help cover essential college expenses. I want to major in cybersecurity because I’m passionate about protecting people from online threats. Currently, I struggle finding affordable resources to gain hands-on experience in the field. The scholarship would be put towards my tuition or certifications to build practical skills, deepen my understanding, and prepare me for a successful career. The support would mean a lot to me and eliminate many burdens.

This scholarship would contribute to my goals to attend Cornish College of the Arts, major in illustration to develop my skills in visual storytelling, bring myself closer to my career goals, and connect with other creatives. From my college experience I am hoping to reconnect with the Seattle area, which means a lot to my family, has a culturally rich environment that calls to me, and is where I was born. A very important aspect that my college education will do is build my network, connecting me to other passionate people who could potentially want to work with me or further connect me to others. A strong network of people will help me achieve my career and project goals, it is very valuable to have others to reach out to. My ultimate goal, and quite honestly, dream, is to make impacts in peoples’ lives with visual storytelling, to write stories that inspire hope, positive personal change, and active thought about the world. I have chosen visual storytelling (graphic novels, illustration, etc.) because of the versatility and accessibility of visual mediums, not only is art my passion, but visual mediums resonate with a wide range of individuals. Good storytelling comes with a wide worldview, intelligence, and life experiences to pull from, these are things further education will contribute to building. Every dollar that I can save or earn is going towards my goal of becoming a better visual-storyteller. I truly believe a story can destroy complacency and apathy, change mindsets, and change a person’s life.

I would put it towards tuition costs!

I would use the scholarship to support my endeavor to become an architect; earning an accredited degree over the course of 5 years and using the $1,000 to help pay for my first semester.

I would use it for tuition

If I could receive the $1,000, it would go towards alleviating a bit of my college tuition costs. I am a first year psychology major at UCSC, and it’s my dream to attend graduate school so I can enter a career in clinical psychology. I hope to specialize in children’s behavioral health, as I myself struggled a lot throughout my childhood and teens, which makes me extremely passionate to help young and vulnerable groups navigate the pain and troubles of the human experience.

I would use the 1K to help me pay for tuition or housing so that I can focus more on school and get my Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Understanding the costs and how to pay them is making me really nervous so extra aid is much appreciated.

Being the oldest child of 7, with the only employed parent being my father and my mother as a full-time mother ; it’s safe to say that it has been a struggle for them to keep us fed and living. Thankfully, I caught on to this quick and developed the work ethic and drive to follow my passion and excel at education. This scholarship would be the upmost beneficial to my cause and journey to majoring in Film and Television Production at any fine institution in the country, because it’d help relieve the pressure on my dad and would help stabilize my financial state when I am ready to pursue the film industry.
