The Goals Fund Scholarship: How Would You Spend $1,000 Toward Your Education & Future Goals?

I would use the $1,000 scholarship in response to college tuition and application fees. Having already completing the SAT, I am looking to apply for as many scholarships as possible to support my intended college major as an architect. I currently attend an early college school and each credit I earn will be helping to lighten the major financial stress of my future college education, just like if I were to be awarded this scholarship. I have the aspiration to one day launch my own successful architecture firm after becoming an architect myself and it would be great to have as much financial support as possible through this journey; especially through scholarships as a first generation college student in my family where college is viewed as a distant opportunity. This scholarship is an investment into a dream of mine that can create the structures in which the intimate moments of human life can happen and I intend to make this dream a reality!

If I received this scholarship, I would use it towards my student loans to afford pursing dream of going to med school to receive the education which will guide my future in positively impacting the healthcare system.

If I were to win the $1,000 scholarship, I would use it towards the tuition for the college I get accepted to!

After being diagnosed with a chronic illness last year, I experienced firsthand how mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausting it can be. The journey filled me with hopelessness—but it also taught me one of the most important lessons of my life: to follow what lights my heart on fire. What brings meaning into my life is helping others in any way I can.

I plan to pursue a degree in Industrial Design with a focus on technology to create a product that improves the lives of people with chronic illnesses. I hope to start a business in the future that empowers people like me to believe that chronic illness does not define us or limit our dreams. Through innovation and empathy, I want to design tools that restore hope, ease daily challenges, and remind others that they are not alone.

The $1,000 dollars from the Goals Fund Scholarship will not only ease the financial burden of college, but will also bring me one step closer to turning pain into purpose. With your support, I can continue building a future where every challenge is transformed into a chance to uplift others.

I would use the $1,000 scholarship to help pay for my semester tuition and dorm expenses as I pursue my college education. This support would ease the financial burden on my family and help me stay focused on my goal of becoming a doctor.

I would use this scholarship towards housing and school supplies like textbooks or a laptop. I plan on majoring in aerospace engineering, and hope to graduate with as little financial struggles as possible.

Winning this money would greatly help me with my upcoming college expenses, I’m planning ahead of time so I won’t have to struggle as much with money.

I would use to help with furthering my education.

I just finished my junior year in high school, and I am excited by what I could do in college. I have already been focusing on completing ACP classes while I am still in high school to help my chances to get into a good college. I don’t have an exact idea for a major, but I would love to go into something art related or film/ photography. I would use the money to fund my tuition to go to college in Indiana.

I’d use this money towards my college education as well as tuition for law school. This would be quite valuable to me as I want to defend the innocent and give a voice to those who have been silenced by injustice. I have a deep moral obligation to fairness, truth and the rule of law; I plan to uphold these morals and bring them to my future career in the legal field.

If I won the $1,000 scholarship, I’d use it to fuel my passion for engineering and AI. I’m currently building a solar car telemetry system and exploring how terahertz technology can be used in real-world applications—both projects I’m really excited about. This scholarship would help me buy the tools and resources I need to keep learning, experimenting, and pushing toward my dream of creating tech that makes a real difference.

I would the money to help pay for my college tuition. I really want to go out of state for college to get better academics to pursue aerospace engineering. The money will go to helping cover the expensive costs of out of state tuition.

I had $1,000 to put toward my education and future goals, I would use it to help cover the cost of college textbooks, supplies, and any extra certifications that could strengthen my path toward becoming a forensic psychologist. I’d also use part of it for transportation or housing expenses to ease the financial stress on my family and stay focused on my studies. Every bit helps me get one step closer to making a difference in the world through psychology.

I would spend the 1k on the dorming costs at Rochester Institute of Technology and to fund my books and technology for my program!

My twin brother and I are the youngest in our family and will both be starting college at the same time. I also have an older sister who is currently in college. Unfortunately, she hasn’t received many scholarships, so my dad is covering her tuition with the help of loans and financial aid. In 2021, our mom passed away, and with her loss, we also lost a significant portion of our family’s income. Since then, my hardworking dad has taken on the full responsibility of supporting all 4 of his children through all of our endeavors. To help ease the financial burden on him, I have been actively applying to as many scholarships as I can since summer started. Receiving this scholarship would help relieve some of that financial burden on my dad. It would also bring me one step closer to achieving my goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. This career path is deeply important to me, and with the support of this scholarship, I will be better positioned to succeed academically and give back to my community in the future.

I would use the $1,000 to help cover the cost of college application fees, campus visits, and textbooks for my first year. As a first-generation college student, every dollar matters. This support would allow me to apply to a wider range of schools and accept opportunities I might otherwise have to decline due to financial limits. It would also ease the burden on my family and let me focus more on academics and less on expenses. Most importantly, it would bring me one step closer to pursuing a STEM degree and giving back to the communities that shaped me.

As a first-generation student, it hasn’t been easy not just for me, but for my parents as well. I see all the sacrifices they made to get me here, and I want to become the voice they never had. This opportunity brings me one step closer to that goal. Thank you for this chance, and good luck to everyone!

this scholarship would tremendously help to pay towards my college tuition. I am a first gen student who is very passionate and has the great privilege to be able to go to college and I would like to help my parents out. My parents can’t pay for much of my college so any scholarship i get would mean the world to not just me, but them too.

With all the opportunities ahead of me, I do my best to utilize what I’m offered. I will use this scholarship towards my academic goals by contributing it to my college expenses. After high school I plan to enroll into a 4 year college in order to receive a bachelor’s degree in either BioChemistry. With this degree I plan to pursue a career as a Forensic Scientist or a Mortician. I understand the commitment needed to achieve my goals, and with perseverance I plan to get there. I believe that this scholarship will be able to place me a financial step closer to achieving higher education and therefore my goals. I would place the money given towards my tutition this fall.

I would use this money in aid towards my law career. I want to change the word and I always have, and any sum of money would be invaluable.
