The Goals Fund Scholarship: How Would You Spend $1,000 Toward Your Education & Future Goals?

I would use the $1,000 from The Goals Fund Scholarship to help cover graduate medical school. I am currently a junior in high school and I plan to become an Orthopedic Surgeon! I work as a lifeguard and I’m also a certified patient care technician, although too young to formally work as one. I have always had my sights set on the medical field because orthopedics interest me. Being a wrestler, broken bones are unfortunately a common occurrence on my team. I find it fascinating when my teammates show me their before and after X-Rays and within a few months they’re back to normal. How cool is that? I’ve done a lot of research and know that this is the career for me because I love helping others. I believe that this is a very rewarding occupation, as I will be able to actively make people’s lives better. I’m about to intern at the hospital in my senior year and get my certification as a clinical medical assistant, which is another step on the road to becoming a surgeon. I’m excited for the future but weary in terms of money. How would I afford a doctorate? Then it clicked for me: Scholarships. I’m doing my best to think ahead so I can get through college without worrying about crippling debt. I hope it pays off! Thank you for your time and consideration.
