Definitely not as good as the British version for all the reasons posters have noted above. I didn’t like Johnny Luzzini - telling Eddie that he was in trouble and must step up the show stopper. We know that, Eddie knows that. The Brit version seems more subtle in the message which adds to the “drama”. I wonder if Luzzini has modeled his interactions on the British Paul. Paul is tough, but to me Luzzini comes off nasty.
The finale is tonight. I haven’t enjoyed it as much as the British version but it has grown on me some!

Ah, I didn’t expect a spoiler here. Anyway, I agree that this show is not as interesting as the original and the bakers are not as skilled. Mary Berry is wonderful, though.
Mary Berry is the genuine article. Beautiful to look at, and so talented. I’m amazed that she can take one bite and know the ingredients.
When is the latest season going to air in the US?
Just saw that the new season starts on July 1st! 
On what channel? Is it the British or the American version?
