The Great British Baking Show Season 3

Her words were spoken from the heart and at times I think we all reach a point where we have to remember those words for ourselves. What a great message for our kids to remember as they experience life.

I’m a little sad to read this:

Now I’m sad.

=((

Oh no! I can’t cook or bake, but I love watching the show. It won’t be the same without Mel and Sue (and since it’s switched networks I probably won’t be able to get it anyway.)

I wonder if it will be available to watch now that the BBC doesn’t have it, with the deal between PBS and the BBC I could watch it there. I supposed channel 4 will make a deal with someone, maybe a Hulu or some such, but it likely will end up being something you have to pay to watch.

putlocker is your friend.

I just heard something about Paul Hollywood leaving also.

I wonder if they are killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

What a shame.

One of the few really good shows out there and now its going to be ruined. :(( You can’t easily recreate that kind of chemistry.

Sad, I loved “the girls” and their comments, I suspect that Channel 4 is going to find that like Top Gear, changing the personnel may well end up being a disaster if you don’t recognize that the people hosting it are as important as what goes on in it.

OMG – that sums up my feelings exactly.

Mine, too, @nottelling. :frowning:

That was a perfect summation, @doschicos.

I suspect if this goes to a commercial channel, the whole thing will end up like a lot of the programs here, where the whole show becomes product placement selling particular brands and so forth. Worse, I suspect the that Channel 4, knowing this is popular overseas, will try and make it like the shows you see on the food channel, turning what is an amiable show into something trying to be Sunday night football or worse, pitting the competitors against each other. I suspect they won’t realize what made the show popular to many people here, that it was the relatively gentle nature of it that appealed to people and not having it be a giant ad for huge food companies and the like. So yep, I agree with the view of it, and especially that the US version of British shows are often a big disappointment (aka a disaster)

more bad news - it’s all over for the show now!

Cookery writer Mary Berry announced Thursday that she will quit as a judge on the hit TV baking competition when it leaves the BBC next year for another channel. Her co-judge, bread expert Paul Hollywood, said he would stay.

Maybe they could persuade Delia Smith to come out of retirement…

I was looking on youtube and found season 7 online. I just watched the first episode. I think I see 7 episodes posted so far.

@raclut (and others) – have you found Series 7 Episodes 9 to 11 on Youtube? Can’t find those episodes.

(I don’t want to sign up for one of those sketchy looking websites)
