rew2402: If I don’t get into a college, I will take a gap year but also attempt CLAT.

^We will see that in a year Ppaayas. Hope for the best.
rew: Will PM you about that in a while.

Yea lol. I am just going to work and let things pan out themselves.
Btw, this makes me want to tell you all that a US college is not the only thing in life. It is good to try, wonderful to get in and okay not to. Do not be disheartened. I do not intend to sound pessimistic, but it is one thing we should all KNOW!

My profile:

Mrinal, your PM takes ages to come. Lol.

Paayas, yes, you maybe right.
But it’s like you are an incompetent person standing amongst the most qualified when one comes to CC.
Being on CC for months, I know all this superior-inferior Complex one feels, but it’s terrible and damn discouraging. even If you don’t want it to get on your nerves, it does, I gets under your skin :/

Me, I will get into my dream school. Keep the hopes up guys. Don’t be such a pessimist. ;)

rew: You are right, but be rest assured, you will get the PM today. :p

I was not being pessimistic.
I will get into my dream school as well!

Need some advice regarding application essays from someone who’s experienced. It’s something very personal which I do not intend to disclose so I want it through PM. :)

I would say that the prices that I listed on my previous post have been inflated by $10-20 but I believe to test outside of the U.S. (even Canada) would make my estimates twice as much. And ye, everything I’m saying is in dollars and not in your respective currency.
This is why if you don’t have the money, you can either apply to need blind schools or wait until later on in your educational life.

Faisal - Petroleum engineering is best in Texas schools (UT, Texas A&M top the list but University of Houston gives you access to oil companies in Houston).

to all 17’ers- I have some advise for you guys.First of all if you try only IVY’s chances of getting scholarship/financial aid is very less. There are a lot of good colleges that give decent scholarships to International students. So research the colleges ,their fees, scholarship,FA etc before you even apply. Also you may consider at least 5 % increase in fee for next year from current year’s fees.No doubt American education offers something better than Indian Universities one has to weigh in the cost vs benefit.Apart from the fees you need to add expenses like travel to India and other personal expenses there
But don’t worry there are loan options available in India itself. If you cant afford > 45 K $ per annum which is the average fees in most decent colleges look for some good private colleges that offer scholarship. My Daughter is being given $29,500 per annum scholarship.
