How are the financial aid forms and documents coming up peeps? :/

No chance at ivies or top 3 LAC’s with average/ above average stats. And you really wanna go to Maine or Minnesota? Got friends there, it’s freezing 24/7.

Wow, a lot of new people on this group, nice to see. :D

It’s been such a long time since I posted here on the thread, even though I was on it since like the beginning. :P

Well, I wanted to do Theoretical Astrophysics for like the last 3 years, so I applied for first choice major in physics. I also might minor/double up in Computer Science, depends on the university I choose to go to and their policies on this stuff.

I applied to one Ivy, a few other privies (vandy, u chicago, wustl) and then a bunch of state schools. I don’t have as good as an app like most of the people here. :P

Accepted SCEA to Princeton
Sorry for being late.

Congratulations! :)

Congratulations buddy! Which city of are you from?

@MakBoy - My prospective major is Econ/Financial Engg. (basically anything related to business), and if possible a minor/double in Pol Science.
rew - Thats like, umm, 13 colleges ?
Ehh too early for us to think about that bro(?)
And who knows you might have what the colleges are looking for right? So just keep your spirits up :)

anvesh - hi there. Yes I know Ive seen your posts. I have wandered the Indian sections for a long time now. Have read both old and new threads ;)

Also, to everyone above, words like “Good” “Pathetic” etc are actually quite subjective. I mean, what might be good to you might seem awesome to me, or vice versa. Also we never know what the adcoms look for! :)

thekd95 - Congrats mate :)

Woooho Congrats thkd :D

Congratulations thkd. What do you plan to major in?

Congratulations for Princeton, mate! So will you attend?

FA forms done except for one, where I just have to press the SEND button. Dunno which form they’ll accept though…

Got rejected on ED I and II. I am on a roll :|

@thekd95… congratulations. Would you pl. post stats? It will help people figure out (a bit) on what Princeton is looking for. Tks

Ivies be random. They have a tendency to surprise. So who knows what average is to me, might seem good to the Adcoms. But still. Hoping for the best

@happyasever- when you need a lot of financial aid, you cannot be choosy. Hence, I don’t mind going to twin cities or mAine or wherever I get in with good aid.

@guyinblue-
Not all ivies. Here’s most of my list-
H Y P D Cornell Brown
Mac, Colby, Oberlin, Williams, Middlebury, Amherst

@rew - Why not Columbia or UPenn?!
Youve got a nice list there. And youre right, when financial aid is a factor, you cant be choosy. Thats the way life is I guess. You just gotta take whatever you are offered.
:)

Columbia has very less aid options for internationals.
As a friend says," ~70% of Columbia Internationals get no aid. So you can extrapolate."

And for UPenn, I heard they had stringent, not good, financial aid policies as well. Still, I really wanted to apply! But the paucity of time made me delete JHU (I, with the bottom of my heart, wanted to apply here) and UPenn.

What board exam are you writing? @guyinblue?

Did anyone apply to NYUAD or NYU-SH?
I did. And put SH as priority. (For so many perfect reasons!)

Also, listen up people.

What is up with the swim test that some schools administer? I just noticed this on the Cornell forum [Common Questions - Swim Test - Cornell University](http://swimtest.cornell.edu/common.html) It seems really weird that you can’t go to Cornell unless you are able to swim. What are your thoughts on this?

@kenyanpride Swimming is not a requirement for Cornell matriculation. It’s , like in most other colleges, a requirement for graduation.
