Thanks SM…I am a Senior Member now  I am a SM now :p

**no matter what senior member u become…

SM ==== smartmind always… beyond doubt… not senior member…

SM
SMartminD**

I meant Scientific Mind ;)

whatever u mean SM is SM … is SM …

and well… whether u choose to call urself sm …doesnt matter.:)

That means u choose to call yourself me…:p

;)

SM

noooooooo… u r SM…Smartmind…and I want u to be that only…I want to be me…that is Ronty (the 007 sparks my character) ;)

haha glad you had a good interview but Princeton grad students are, by unanimous undergraduate consent, ‘sketchy’ and ‘weird’

The Prince even carried an article on the phenomenon :p

well…this is a unanimous consent for almost all sciency/serious colleges. The Grad population is very dedicated and thereby weird…

my god i cant believe i just read that…
personally id refrain from making statements like that until after i secure admission a a decent univ…

also some more advise- it seems many people are appyling to skethy US univs like obscure state schools etc (i heard about U of Cinncinnati being mentioned on this board)… guys be more selective about where ya’ll apply. not all colleges in the US are great. in fact i dont recommentd anyone spending $$ to go to the US unless ur in a top 15 school…

education in India is SO much cheaper… unless u get into a good school here just finish o your undergrad in india and come here for ur masters or wtvr… that being said if ur at the right school the experience is freakin unbelievable…

yeah…i was shocked toread dat statement too, illbeback!

i mean getting into UPenn is not impressive…whoa!!

i’llbeback…FYI …U of Cincinnati is ranked amoung the top 5 co op programs in the country. This year they have inagurated $600 m student facility. They have the worlds most mordern dorm. One of the top astronomy programs inthe country.

whoa… this thread has progressed like crazy since I came here yesterday… I’m just too lazy to read the last 4 pages.

Illbeback, I guess u mistook Vampiro’s remark… He meant that getting into UPenn without aid isnt as difficult as getting in with aid…there is a big difference between the stats of those who get in with and without aid :)

definetely … i did a small calculation on JHU and there at JHU itself it showed statistically that not asking for aid … increase ur chances by 450% in admission game…

so def the qualifications and talents are commensurate and thus higher…

so i can imagine the situation at Upenn… difficult and damn crazy…for finaid…

SM

and well MM … it is not running fast … but at its slowest record ascent… It used to be like 08-09 pages in one night or sumthing … always…

nobody posts now… thats why the pposts are less…its always ben the most popular thread…

SM

Yes… SM is right :)

Statistically, how much does not asking for FA help at Penn?

Upenn doesnt disclose sum critical data in this regard which is useful and essential in determinign the stuff… but as per what is evident… the JHU average is the minimum increase in advatge and its greator for the ivies…

SM

All institutions that are non-need blind have students missing out just because they applied for financial aid. My friend got rejected from a couple of colleges just because his need could not be met.

Well that makes space for underachivers…after all, us people have to be successful some time :p

SM, why do you say that the 4.5x increase in chance is the minimum for ivies?

I wouldn’t say all those who get in without financial aid are underachievers. My brother is in JHU (w/o fin aid) and is doing way better than those who did get financial aid. He does feel now that he should’ve applied for aid…but then you never know.
