to answer many of your posts…as much as i would love to go to IIT, i’m bound to go to Cornell…ive signed the ED agreement, so sorry, i can’t drop my COrnell seat…
but i have dropped my Cambridge University and University of Chicago seat because there’s no chance i can go there either

this is absolutely stupid!!! U guys have developed a grudge against me because i argue IITs good…sheez…i was arguing for IIT and now u say i’m going to be the biggest loser in the world!!! it was meant to be a debate…not a personal duel which many of u have change d it to.

esacped countering your argument? r u nuts!!! u guys kept saying “drop ur Cornell seat”…so i said i can’t…thats it…since i wasn’t bound by any agreement at Cambridge and UofC, i did do it…so there u have it

as for IIT, i think we are of common consensus that IITs are the alma mater to the best engineers in India…its standing with respect to MIT is debatable…but it is good, noo doubt.
I have immense amount of respect for both institutions and agree that both have their pros and cons…but each one is entitled to his/ her opinion…i believe that the IITs are better and many of you beleive that MIT is better…its not possible to change one’s outlook…so…please stop this argument.

LOTR is the ultimate work of fantasy. So no way could Eragon compete that. But I’ll admit it’s still pretty good despite the bits ripped off from Earthsea. Anyway, most works of fantasy - even the good ones - are ripped off to some extent or the other from other fantasy stories. Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series being a good example.
(OK maybe Wheel of Time isn’t precisely great but I am soooo obsessed with it :p)

anduke…DO U KNOW WHAT RACISM THERE’S AT CAMBRIDGE!!!
dude…u can rest assured i did my research before choosing Cornell…
As for why not IIT? i also want to do Biology as my minor…and some political science too…since Cornell offers me with that flexibility…i prefer Cornell :D

ASP,you just made the argument for why a US university is better than IIT yourself -coz of the flexibility.
:D

But I would still recommend you taking another look at IIT.If you’re not going to be happy at Cornell(and most likely you’re not), there’s no point going there just so that you can have a Biology or Poli Sci Minor.

abduke,
Cornell’s a BIG place…and there are guys to suit EVERYONE’s taste… and even if someone doesn’t like u there, ther’s so much of coure-load that they don’t have time to care…
also i love their RoboCup team and SAE team…the new wireless communication system that Cornell RoboCup team is using is very impressive indeed…
so i think i’ll fit in just fine
lastly…there’s no ragging in the US unlike India
