i want to know the books which can come handy for SAT English part preparation… please guide

anyone know what the demographics (is that the right word here?) at BITS are like?

Ronty
For english Barrons is the way to go.Just get that word list and you’re on your way to 750+ in CR.

hey guys tell me if anyone of you has bin to RSI or anyother Research Programme in the states.

“Ronty

If this were the old SAT, I would have agreed but now the analogies have gone, so vocab isnt that important anymore. The best thing would be to do as many practice tests as you can.

^ I agree…though the Barrons book has a nice set of reading passages (with questions of course) which may be of use.

i think the SAt (the old one atleast) was more about intelligence than hardwork. i mean if your smart your going to get a 1450+. no matter how little work u put in… the same works vice versa… i’v seen the most hard working people land up with low 1300’s…

Guys if ‘hello’ happens to come on CC/TiT,please ask him to check his e-mail/PMs.

Thanks so much.

The new SAT is obnoxious. It seems like it just opens itself up to more preparation madness and increased randomness in terms of scoring. Five hours of testing isn’t easy for most, and it takes amazing test taking skills simply to get through the whole thing. At least in America, not all college-bound students take Algebra II by the end of junior year, which is when most take the exam. And the increased number of reading passages don’t do anything to level the playing field. While I do like the addition of the writing section, the essay scoring is completely subjective and from the looks of the scoring curves the difference between a 10 and an 11 can mean the difference between a 750 and a 780, which in my opinion is a huge jump. sighh…I’m just bitter about my score…I’ll stop ranting now.

hey guys

ok FT adides and sachit i may have good news for yea, America does have a 24 hr soccer channel called fox soccer channel which shows premiership, bundesliga and ligue 1 games ( champions league finals and semis are shown on espn) . Its like 10-15 $ a month i think on tv . I cant survive without soccer either!

Though I am moreof arsenal fan ( mainly a newcastle fan though) , man U kicked our butt this year and thats the truth( 3-1 loss at home? sheesh ) . Still think Wenger should have invested more in fresh talent the last 2 years and reyes is such a ass****traitior lol.

someone was mentioning “wanna study in the us?”.
i have the book. never read it, but just kinda looked at a few random pages. i dont think it has anything more to say which the people here cant tell you, although it has a long list of scholarships and such, which for some reason didnt seem very helpful to me - the reason escapes me now…

people who submitted the SOLAR (premanjali, neha(?)), did it seem to you that whoever worded the e-mail tried to be a little dramatic…?

I had to read that twice before I understood it…
