hey vampiro…first understand wat im saying…ok.
ya…i did mean ppl who hav bin admitted someplace in the previous years.

Thank you everyone for your valuable advices. One more question… Since my internal school marks card doesnt look good(i mean some 50’s and 60’s score), can i send a report sheet converting those marks in grades and getting it attested by my school principal? Or is it necessary to send the exact photocopies of our internal marks?

Can anyone plz tell me about the Nanyang Examination date and its toughness? And, did anyone here applied to NUS Singapore?
Cheers… :)

Hi,

Do u think asking for a fee waiver is gonna affect my chances of admission?
Also if I ask for a fee waiver does that mean my EFC is 0?

Thanks
Saatvik

Do US Colleges really allow fee waiver on its application, for International Students? Has anyone on TiT got these feewaiver?

hi,

i’m thinking of applying scea to stanford. i read on TiT that if u ask for aid and apply early at stanford u get deferred to regular decision. but i also read on TiT that 70% of the funds for intl students at stanford are used up in early action!

What shud i do? Shud i do scea at stanford or somewhere else? I’m really confused! Stanford is my dream school but I don’t wanna waste my early!

Thanks
Saatvik

anybody in delhi applying to the us this year? let’s get together sometime!
what say u?

Stanford is my dream institute too, but GOD, please make it a reality too…
:):):):):):):):):):):)

Q: “Do US Colleges really allow fee waiver on its application, for International Students? Has anyone on TiT got these feewaiver?”

I had applied to MIT.
I had paid the fees first before I knew of Fee-Waiver. Later they waived the fee for me but I didn’t get anything back!

Q: “Do u think asking for a fee waiver is gonna affect my chances of admission?”

I think that it does affect your chances irrespective of what they claim.
My MIT interviewer said that MIT does not want to spend their resources on internationals as much as they want to spend on American students. And also this “Americans of Indian origin were selected many times in the past (by MIT) because either they had green cards or were citizens of US”.

.

hey saatvik…im from delhi too. Stanford is my dream too along with berkeley and mit.
:)

the ntu exam was sometime in april, i think.

not very hard.

Shashank, since u got selected in NTU, can u remember about how much %age u scored in the NTU paper? Is the toughness level same as CBSE XII or AIEEE?

Yes, I applied with fee waiver to all 8 univs.

My application fee waivers were accepted by my 8 colleges too.

Whats the process to get Application fee waiver? and r their any sources for fin. aid for International students & which anyone from TiT r going to get, excluding the University itself?

yeah…how do you apply for a fee waiver???

Just ask your school to write a letter saying that paying the application fee poses financial difficulties for you and give a reason (family circumstances, high exchange rates, etc.)

I second suchitras comment. Over here I got my guidance counselor to write a letter describing financial hardships and mailed the letter along with my college apps. It worked for me, i hope it does for u too.

Ok
For Asatvik and ronty…-> you should send your queries in Email to the adcomms directly where you’ll get an accurate answer for everything.

Ronty I think you can send a converted grade report coz basically you’re school report card and the signed grade report will have same credibility because they both are made by the school so there’s no problem (I’m doing the same thing).

Sachit i said I was sorry

And once again Adides thanks for your responses…convincing as they always are…

Finally Best of Luck to everyone going to their respective colleges…since I wont be able to post for a few days.

Hey tell me one thing…
I read in one of the information brochures “your name on the application should be exactly like it is used in the testing forms, so that we can match it”.
Now does same name means “just” the name should be same or does the case also be the same. Like
VAMPIRO
Vampiro
are these same. Coz in my TOEFL I followed the latter way of writing my name and in other stuff I wrote in allcaps.

Hey everyone

Now that they have named china and indiato be the upcoming world powers, do u think it’s better to go to college in India or USA?
